I think you did an extraordinary job! Wow! Your planets are a bit different from the other's I've seen which is quite good. The photo manipulation is jaw-droppingly gorgeous! The smoke (or fog is it?) is so real.

(delpart) Thank you,pdn doesn't have limits but some plugins do,lol, and of course they are some of my favorites. ;)

( Helen ) Thank you Helen ;)

I posted a few new space pics and also 3 art pics all made with Vista,my other backup machine, lol. Now I have my windows 7 machine back so maybe I can do better in the future. And I beefed it up to the max, lol. ;)

And here is the link for the lazy ones, lol,jk. ;)http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/21233-skullbonz-art-gallery-update-march-252012/

I just found your gallery and have to say "Your entire gallary is nothing but amazing!" I love the butterfly, and the spacescapes look so realistic.... Hopefully one day I can be as good as the rest of the users here.

Thank you both for your comments. And to think that a little over a year ago I started with Barbieq25's jewel tutorial, lol. Before discovering PDN I had no formal training in art, just a lifetime of doodling on paper. Oh ya since I started using computers in 98 on windows98,lol,I have always wanted to make pics and videos on them. I tried all kinds of paint programs over the years and they all are either so complicated that an uneducated art student will take years to figure out how to use or they are so limited in effects that it is impossible to make decent pics. Paint.Net was like a gift from heaven, being fairly easy to learn along with the forums and all the great people plus the awesome plugins. I have done many tutorials but when I do them I use a great deal of experimentation and doing so I discover new ways to do other things in other pics. It is this experimentation that leads me to all these pics that I make, lol, you should see what I do with family and friend pics, lol.

But Helen I must say that I cheat a little on the textures for my planets, lol, but maybe it isn't cheating, you judge. I was out one day taking pictures of different rock faces to use for textures in my pics and one day decided to try and make a planet with one because of the cool grains in it. Using PDN to change the colors, etc. first, I then use shape3D with several readjustments and place in the pic. Some times I don't like the look so I just undo back to the pic and try something else. I have discovered that if you use the majic wand set at about 30% tolerance you can lock on to either the lighter or darker color, copy and paste in another layer. Then color to look like water, place above the texture pic layer and add a little gaussian blur, merge the two and then do shape 3D. Experimenting is the key for this novice, lol.

I am not by far as good as most around here and they give me great inspiration to strive to get better. Tutorials are a great starting point for anyone, but remember that the steps are not set in stone, experiment and adapt! :)

I am back with a few more pics on my upgraded pc and having fun playing with PDN. I have learned that a fast pc makes a difference in how much fun you can have.

Man I love all the Super plugins. Thank you to all who have made them, without you I would still be just dreaming.

I hope you enjoy this latest bunch. ;) Here is a quicky link for us old ones, lol. http://forums.getpai...-may-17th-2012/

Oh and I hope you like the new look. :GradientTool:

The way you create textures isn't cheating at all! I never about about taking a picture of rock faces. That's really clever of you. And yes, I very much like the "new" look. It's very neat. I saw the photos you took and I love them. Did I ever say photography is kind of my enemy in a way that I'm not so good at it, so I admire people who have that photographing talent. The latest images you created are superb. I really like your ideas and enjoy browsing your older works, too.

I love the purple one! The blue scribbly one reminds me of a spider but I like it :)

I love looking at your work & watching you progress over time. Your work always makes me smile. Well done with these!

I like the icyness of the #5 with the spaceships made of ice too but 6 just steals the show for me. How awesome is that?!

Using photos for textures is not cheating. Bit like saying collage is not art. Bet Kurt Schwitters would have a few things to say about that. Take a peek here: http://www.google.com.au/imgres?q=kurt+schwitters&hl=en&biw=1920&bih=955&gbv=2&tbm=isch&tbnid=m0EP672wZIBMmM:&imgrefurl=http://www.jeron.je/starting_points/new%2520art%2520pages/ks2/collage%2520ks2.htm&docid=KX_bY0Rvzo55_M&imgurl=http://www.jeron.je/starting_points/new%252520art%252520pages/ks2/Organised%252520images/KS2/Collage/c5/51%252520Collage,%252520Kurt%252520Schwitters%252520Style-Y5%252520copy.jpg&w=434&h=587&ei=17u2T6P9GY6PiAfEz8GHCQ&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=624&vpy=278&dur=1032&hovh=261&hovw=193&tx=120&ty=198&sig=102922578229539709442&page=1&tbnh=126&tbnw=93&start=0&ndsp=67&ved=1t:429,r:19,s:0,i:125

Because of summer here and work I have not had much time for the computer. I have although managed to find time here and there to play and make some pics. I haven't been around for two months and love all the new pictures you all posted, some really awesome ones in the bunch. It is amazing what you can do with Paint.net and the learning never stops. I wanted to add a few of my favorites from the past couple months so you can see what I've been up to,lol. I hope you find something you like. Here is a short cut back to the gallery; http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/21233-skullbonz-art-gallery-update-july-72012/#entry349670

I just added a few new art pics but photobucket has changed around so I apologize for no thumbs. As soon as this old fart figures out how to get them to show, they will, lol. They have a whole different link that doesn't have the part you remove in them, hhmmm.

Beautiful green gem. It looks like it's being guarded away from people in a secret place. You did a nice job with the blue design. Some offsetting colors like orange, yellow, or green would be nice. The red design with the swirl in the middle is neat and the rainbow-colored image is lovely. It reminds me of winter, for some reason. Maybe like when Jack Frost paints on glass windows...

Very nice work with the wall one. Each element adds something for me. My fave of the 2 is the green one. I love the images within the image & the green too. It also reminds me of the little figures in the board games we used to play. A great pair of images.

Is photobucket automatically removing the bits that you need to delete? Delpart showed us how unticking the "link back to album" generates a thumb without having to delete anything at all. :)

Did you try just coping the "thumb" link & then previewing your post? What did it do? Hope you get it sorted :)

Thank you everybody.

"Did you try just copying the "thumb" link & then previewing your post? What did it do? Hope you get it sorted"@Barbieq25--I tried every combination,I think, lol, they took that little section out that we used to remove for the thumb so now I am all messed up,lol. Photo bucket just redid their site, going to take me a bit to figure it out.
