  1. The text doesn't visibly appear on the layer if the text style is adjusted before typing. When the text is typed in first, then style adjustments are made all is well. Is this as designed?
  2. Okay. Tried again. The plugin does work for me. Previously, I was inputting the text so that it was being rendered off-canvas.
  3. Never mind my previous query, I see that it is a menu item in v3.36.
  4. I don't have that menu item, nor is it shown here. http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/en/HelpMenu.html Is it something that shows up when there is an update available?
  5. The crashing may be the result of using the plugin with an outdated version of Paint.NET. The current Paint.NET version is v3.5.5. You have v3.36. I just tried Editable Text on my Paint.NET, and it didn't cause a crash. However, it also doesn't seem to be working. Another possibility re: the crashing is if the SBCommon.dll wasn't installed in the Effects folder when the plugin file was.
  6. There's no Sharpening Brush tool in Paint.NET.
  7. There's no auto-crop, you are already doing it the simplest way.
  8. Try setting your new color layer to Multiply or Color Burn blend mode.
  9. Instead of copy/pasting, try saving the file, then open it in Paint.NET.
  10. What you wish to do with this image actually represents a fairly complex problem. Consider the double image aspect above the left bicep, the left hand and thumb. How much of that do you want to keep or discard? Even where the border between subject and background is fairly clear, the brown blurs into the white to soften the transition. In our mind's eye we may have a very clear vision of the desired end-product, but the software can't know where we wish to draw the line between subject and extraneous, discardable background. One way of doing this, with more control over the result, is to position your image above a solid black layer, then remove all of the white from your original image using the Grim Color Reaper plugin effect, set to White. Then, working on the black layer, use the Paintbrush to fill in the subject area with white. Once complete, blur slightly to soften the edges. At this point, the black-and-white layer can be used as an Alpha Mask applied to the original image. Alternately, the black-and-white layer can have the Grim Color Reaper effect, set to Black, applied to it. Save as PNG. Of course doing things this way won't happen quickly. If the result is OK for your needs, L3ron's suggested method is much, much quicker. http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/5980/partialwhiteout01.png In Progress.

  16. If you like, you can save and upload your.pdn file, then post the download link. That way we can see exactly what's going wrong and give specific advice. http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php
  17. It's important that the outline has no little breaks in it, so that it will contain the action of the Magic Wand.
  18. If the plugin is installed correctly, the effect should show in the menu as: Effects > Tools > CustomBrushesMini The reference to "the "Draw with Custom Brush" tool" in the link below is outdated.

  20. Adolpha , The Paint.NET eraser tool erases, it doesn't recolor. -------------------- There is the Recolor tool that can change one color to another. RecolorTool -------------------- Using the Magic Wand, the red could be globally selected, then erased or deleted. Magic Wand -------------------- The Grim Color Reaper plugin effect could be used to remove the red. Grim Color Reaper
