  1. LukasMaximus, Step 8 tells you to add a new layer. The shadow needs to be on its own layer so that nothing else is affected when it is moved and resized.

  3. R3flect, If you want the background to show through the windshield: 1) Make a Lasso Selection around where the far side-window shows through the windshield. 2) Use the Color Picker tool to set your Primary color as the tan color currently in that side-window area. 3) Use the Grim Color Reaper plugin effect set to Primary Color (default). Grim Color Reaper The side-window area will become transparent, allowing the background layers to show through. 4. If you want to give the edges of your selection a softer look, try Feather Selection - part of the BoltBait plugin pack. Feather Selection If you want to see your image without the active selection border obscuring the view, press Esc to deselect. To immediately bring the selection back, click on the undo icon. :Undo:
  5. Shift + Mousewheel Does this work for you, for side-scrolling?
  6. My entry is an air elemental manifesting as a blowfish. The fish's scales are made of a tiled manipulation of this image detail of Zephyr and Aura, two of the world's winds. Stock Image edited for FF. ======================================= Fish

  8. There is no way to set JPEG as default Save type. ==================================== There is this work-around, which may or might not be worth the effort. --------------------- Create a blank image, save as .jpg. Set its Properties to Read Only. Make a Paint.NET desktop shortcut with its Target info set to open Paint.NET with that file loaded. If you open every new file with that shortcut and do Save As... with only one layer, then it will save as .jpg as default.
  9. There is an alternative that works with Windows 7. ABRView
  10. Layers > Rotate/Zoom Ctrl + Shift + Z Not automatic, has to be adjusted manually.
  11. Just release and re-apply the mouse-button before getting to that point.
  12. Are you going to do the same (w/Redirect Link) for the Plugin Index? Edit - Question answered.
  13. There's a Splash plugin. MadJik Plugins
  14. Can you post links to the videos, and say at what point in the video timeline the effect is occurring?
  15. Rotating a selection, using the right mouse button and the Move Selected Pixels tool , is the other built-in way to rotate something. It has a toolbar option of choosing between "Smooth" or "Pixelated". With either choice there is distortion when rotating, but the distortion is of a distinctly different character depending on which option is chosen.
  16. When using Layers > Rotate/Zoom for this only the "Angle:" setting should be anything other than zero. Is that different, the way you've been doing it?
  17. With single-layer images, before you resize the canvas, duplicate the layer. After resizing the canvas, delete the bottom layer.
  18. I understand the part about the excess getting cut off if the canvas isn't expanded first. I don't get any shrinkage when rotating. What's that about?
  19. Does Layers > Rotate/Zoom cause these kind of problems? Ctrl + Shift + Z
  20. Is there a reason why you don't rotate them in Paint.NET instead of using GIMP?
  21. Using the Lasoo Select tool with Smart Blur repetitively can help a lot with this. Smart Blur is part of KrisVDM's plugin pack. Plugin Pack
