  1. You might be able to adapt what's shown in this tutorial to get part of the result you want.
  2. I guess just take a picture of the table , empty. If that's not feasible now because it would disrupt the current production status, then wait until you come to a point when having the table empty is no problem and fix it all as post production editing. So, the idea is to have the empty table image as the lower layer and use the eraser on the upper layer. That way the empty table will be there instead of the gray-and-white pattern when the top layer has parts erased.
  3. Have a bottom layer that is just the table. Next layer up has action figures and prop on the table. Erase the prop, the underlying table will show through seamlessly.
  4. sunburst93, It sounds like you inadvertently downloaded the source files for Align Object. The correct download for Align Object is at the bottom of the first post in the Align Object topic. It is a zip file that contains only one .dll file.
  5. You can set default. No remember-last-tool-used currently. http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/8784/tooldefaults02.png
  6. For changing the author, make a rectangular selection of the right side of that upper bar. Press: Ctrl C Ctrl+Shift V This will copy/paste the selection into a new layer. Use the keyboard left arrow key to move that selection over to cover the current author name. Apply Motion blur at 0 degrees and a distance of 10.
  7. You could try it using a rename utility: http://www.bulkrenameutility.co.uk/Download.php I use the No-Installer version.
  8. Beautiful results on the text examples in the tutorial, Yellowman. I don't have that font, but made this using bevel selection in two layers at different settings. Text Example It looks similar to your sample. btw, what's the name of your font?
  9. Re: The runny eye: The method described in this tutorial was used for this retouch. The Subterranean Copy/Paste Blues
  10. Pressing F5 will toggle the Tools window. Click on one of the icons in the Tools window to change tools.
  11. If the final image is going to be black-and-white, then its best to turn it black-and-white first. The hairs over the eyes can be improved by using Smudge. In Smudge use a soft brush, size 6, at 100% strength. Use short strokes running parallel to the image pattern areas that you want to keep. Smudge the darker pixels over the hair from both sides.
  12. Can you post one of the problem pictures?
  13. This site has some good basic drawing tips: http://tlc.howstuffworks.com/family/drawing-ideas.htm
  14. To remove the title, first use the Color Picker tool. Left-click the orange color just below the last "S" in "SUCCESS". Right-click the dark gray just above the black outline of the "O" in "TO". This sets Primary and Secondary colors. ============================== Then make a new transparent layer above the e-book cover image layer. Make a rectangular selection of the title area from the bottom of the AuthorName bar to where the orange color stops. It will slightly overlap the orange tip of the "jigsaw-puzzle-stairway". Now, use the Gradient tool, set to Linear Gradient. Left-click and drag from the bottom to the top of the selection. Press Esc to deselect. Carefully erase over the tip of the "jigsaw-puzzle-stairway". Make a new layer to put the new title text on.
  15. What steps and settings specifically are you using when printing? Have you chosen the 8X10 option in the Print dialogue? -------------------------------------------------------------- If the printer is printing at a DPI setting that is different from the pixels per inch setting of your image, then it will affect image size. The circle selection can be resized using the Move Selection tool on a corner adjusting node while holding down the Shift key. ------------------------------------------------------------ The status bar at the bottom of the Paint.NET UI window will show Bounding Rectangle size while the Move Selection tool is being used. This is equivalent to diameter when the selection is circular. Yes.
  16. If the car you are adding has an all white surround, you can use the Magic Wand tool on the white, and then press Delete on your keyboard.
  17. Dave, pls. post the flat version. I believe that it would be easier to work on. Also, specifically what parts of the text etc. do you want to change?
  18. eiyintova, This tutorial explains about image size as it relates to printing size and other related considerations. DPI and YOU ==================================== Yes. You can resize and save it as it's own file. When you save the resized image, save it as a different filename, to preserve the original image file. The resized image can then be brought into your collage project file by using: Layers > Import From File... ==================================== If you save a multi-layer file as a .pdn file it will preserve the layers. If you need a flattened file for immediate use as a standard image, save as .pdn before flattening, then save again as PNG or whatever you need. You should then have two image files. One single layer file and the multi-layer .pdn file. ===================================== Once a file has been closed the History is lost. ===================================== Using the Ellipse Select tool while holding down the Shift key will result in a circular selection. Position the circular selection on a rectilinear image with the Move Selection tool. Then use this keyboard combination: Ctrl C Ctrl+Shift V This will copy and paste the circular selection into a new layer. The layer with the original rectilinear image can then be deleted or made not visible by removing its checkmark in the Layers window.
  19. Use the Rectangular Selection tool. In the toolbar change the setting from "Normal" to "Fixed Ratio". Set the ratio to the dimensions of your banner. Then make the selection as you want it. Anything outside the boundaries of the selection will be gone when you next, Crop to Selection. This will give you an image cropped to the correct aspect ratio. Lastly, resize to the finished dimensions that you want.
  20. There's this for gradients: http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/en/GradientTool.html
  21. Okay, when you use the transparent radial gradient, click in the middle of the canvas and drag out to the edge of the canvas. When you first click, everything goes transparent, that's normal. It's the dragging that will bring back the opacity.
  22. Be sure to duplicate layers before using the transparent gradient. Noise won't apply to transparency.
  23. The checkerboard isn't actually part of the image, it indicates transparency. So, you are doing something to create transparency.
