If you have questions, comments or general comments about this comp, post them in the discussion thread HERE Entry time for this competition will run through Midnight (12:00) Friday night (April 16th 2010), U.S. Eastern Daylight Savings Time. All submissions entered up to this time will be allowed. If you have any questions, post them in this thread or PM Possum Roadkill. I would be happy to help anyone interested.
  2. Id say leave it in the comp. Grass can be a floor too. If you have a tent that doesn't have a canvas floor, the grass is your floor. The ground is actually the floor anytime you are outside and grass is the carpet. See ! Life is all about perspective. I can't enter the example I gave with the spider because that's been in my gallery for ages. Not new, not even close ! Also that stone texture is something I've used on several pictures. Oh I have an idea on what I can do. I just need the time to do it. (and a whole lot more artistic ability ) Axel, I do that too. Spiders are beneficial animals who eat pesky plant eating pests in my garden !
  3. Sorry, we don't have the permission's set to delete posts. I guess we can move them, but not delete them. Well, that's OK. It will only be for the week. You might try moving it again and see if there are options for the move operation.

  5. I'm sure that Welshblue would be open to any suggestions you might have, but since he is the winner, it's up to him to decide. I like the idea of a photo manipulation theme, and your idea of doing a movie poster is a great idea. Would you mind if I consider it for a them for someone where else?
  6. You know WB, if you changed the color it could be really, really long shag carpet. WOW is that spider a tattoo?
  7. Don't you dare step on my spider ! He's robotic and cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to develop from the prototype to the final design. It's not my fault they keep reproducing and now number in the hundreds ! Sure they look creepy, but they are really beneficial. They hunt terrorists and alien robots from outer space ! Oh if you only knew ! <insert dramatic look here> OK I think I get the ideas of what we can do. I'll try to get something together. I have some ideas (evil laugh), yes some very good ideas (longer evil laugh). But first, some pizza ! EDIT: Spelling, again !
  8. Congratulations Welshblue ! The winner with 7 votes [41.18%] Runner up is Possum Roadkill with 5 votes [29.41%] WOW what a squeeker !!! This exciting competition has now drawn to a close after many perilous twists and turns. Welshblue, if you could send me your theme please ! A personal note: Sorry I was late to get the poll closed. Our internet went out a little after 11:00 p.m. last night. I was on the phone with "Charlie the wonder tech" for two hours before finally giving up. You know when you live way out in the country, things happen. I don't know if some farmer's drunk son knocked down the antenna with his tractor or if Rocky the Raccoon committed suicide by electric shock while chewing on some wires, but things are up and running now, some 13 hours later. I feel like I'm stuck in an episode of Green Acres sometimes......
  9. Wow that's a great theme. It will be a hard one too. You know, I think my brain isn't working. OK great one Soka, Chris, and Pipp !
  10. Oh I thought CSM was running Sig battles. Sorry, my mistake.
  11. That is the same as Monkey Face's suggestion. 3D/realistic. It's not up to me, I am just a humble WOTW host. I thought you were hosting the Sig Battle anyway aren't you?
  12. I agree, but would be willing to work with either. Thanks for your help and input. EDIT: misspelled words ? Man, I'm tired.
  13. Yes (a mod lounge) and No, it's in MS Outlook when you set up a list of people who you need to send the same email or meeting invite to. Sorry, it was a very very long week. The routing list is what we attach to a document that needs to be dispersed to various departments for assignments or approval. I am crossing synapses at this moment and cannot find the correct word. The proverbial "tip of the tongue" syndrome.
  14. When you say a sub-forum, do you mean like a moderator forum that only the mods/admins can see? I had a section on my last forum where we could discuss issues off the main forum. On my new forum we do not have one because there are so few members and only three mods/admins. But if allowed, I think it might be a good idea. That way someone who is going to be on vacation or has an unexpected emergency can hand over their comp to someone else in their absence and then resume control once they are back. The comp would continue as usual, with no interruptions. If done via PM, we will have to have something akin to a routing list (sorry, the exact word escapes me at the moment) to send a PM to all hosts, then acknowledge someone who will take over.
  15. Sorry but that took me to a domain that is for sale. It says, Welcome to aatwo.com. And yes, I think I know what you mean in that you don't actually skin something as in creating an actual workable interface but a mock-up. So this would be like THIS in the Pictorium?
  16. OK, another question. If I do a floor, can I also do the walls to put the floor in context (as being a floor) ? Let me explain it like this, do you just want an image of a texture like this or can I put it in context like this? (oviously, without the spider ) Same texture, but one is a flat surface that could be almost anything, while the other is rotated and tiled so it appears to be a floor. Note: I have already used these and will not enter them, and I'm not trying to be a jerk. I just want to make sure the rules and guide lines are clear to those who wish to enter.
  17. Agreed. I will use my powers for goodness and justice. Seriously, I agree. I will only get involved in someone else's comp if asked. I plan on being a participant as much as a host. Mike, I realy don't know much about a skinning comp, do you have any info about it? Would this also include things like media players?
  18. Agreed. I would like to host no more than two comps so I can concentrate on them, do a good job on them, and also have the time to enter others. I think we have many so people interested in hosting a comp, if I only host one, that would be fine with me. I will be glad to do whatever needs to be done to make this a success. However, if no one else wants it, I would appreciate doing Abstract of the Week. We have a lot of great abstract artists, (Oma, Sokagirl, AFG, come to mind) that tend to be left out of the WOTW and SOTW comps. This will also give some of the noobies a chance to get their feet wet in a comp, as not everyone will enter every week. I love the idea of the 3D object/realistic comp. Much better than my weird art or best image of the week ideas. (what was I thinking?) I agree ! I bet this will be the most popular comp of all.
  19. I LOVE this idea Simon. Brilliant! I would assume we can also have a background or setting for the chess piece, ie. part of a chess board?
  20. I just want to make sure I understand. I can make any texture as long as it's a floor? How it will it determined that it's a floor?
  21. There are a couple of replies to your question in the other thread you started about this question. Thanks for your question, there are no dumb questions when you don't know the answer. Thanks ! Hope the answers help.
  22. Since you have the white border, you can just click on it with the magic wand and use the bucket fill to give it the color you want.
  23. Just a reminder, the poll on this comp ends tonight at midnight, (Eastern Daylight Savings Time). Please get your votes in.
