  1. These plugins work in 3.5.11 unless specifically stated otherwise. As the above authors have mentioned, many also work with 4.0x.
  2. Thanks Midora. That will mean a rewrite of the algorithm I used. Not a big problem, but I have another plugin to finish first.
  3. Nicely done gorm. You worded that very well & providing the link was a great idea.
  4. Thanks guys. @midora - I like the clipboard idea. I might give that some further thought. I'm not sure that messing with the height-width ratio is going to make the pattern tile perfectly. Some experimentation is in order.... @Red Ochre - sorry about clipping your name in the dialog title bar Who is this Red Oc anyway? Will Phi make the pattern tile?
  5. June Update Seven shiny new plugins this month! Helix - @Red ochre. Draws a range of helical and spiral shapes. Many choices of shapes and colors. Lameography - @BoltBait. Paint.NET 4.0x version of boltBait's Lomography plugin. Mirror Selection - @GOAE. Mirror a selection horizontally, vertically or both. TR's Glass Vignette - @TechnoRobbo. A Refraction-like distortion with an un-distorted center. In other words - it distorts the image as if it were viewed through curved glass. Shiny! TR's SelfEeZ - @TechnoRobbo. Captures an image directly from a webcam and imports it into the current layer. TR's Strange Attractors - @TechnoRobbo. A fractal generator which uses chaos theory to pump out the fractals known as Strange Attractors - think: wavy line patterns. Vignette+ - @BoltBait. Enhanced vignette plugin. Adds a black, white or colored vignette. Softer than the built in effect.
  6. It doesn't work in 4.0.5242 if no selection is active - giving this error Hidden Content: File: C:\Program Files\Paint.NET\Effects\Mirror.dll Name: MirrorEffect.MirrorEffectPlugin Version: 1.0.5250.35399 Author: Craig Sheahan Copyright: Copyright © Craig Sheahan Website: http://www.getpaint.net/redirect/plugins.html Full error message: PaintDotNet.WorkerThreadException: Worker thread threw an exception ---> System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Coordinates out of range, max={Width=799, Height=599} Parameter name: (x,y) Actual value was {X=800,Y=0}. at PaintDotNet.Surface.GetSetItemThrow(Int32 x, Int32 y) in D:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\Core\Surface.cs:line 729 at MirrorEffect.MirrorEffectPlugin.Render(Surface dst, Surface src, Rectangle rect) at MirrorEffect.MirrorEffectPlugin.OnRender(Rectangle[] rois, Int32 startIndex, Int32 length) at PaintDotNet.Effects.Effect`1.Render(EffectConfigToken parameters, RenderArgs dstArgs, RenderArgs srcArgs, Rectangle[] rois, Int32 startIndex, Int32 length) in D:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\Effects\Effect`1.cs:line 97 at PaintDotNet.Effects.Effect.Render(EffectConfigToken parameters, RenderArgs dstArgs, RenderArgs srcArgs, Rectangle[] rois) in D:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\Effects\Effect.cs:line 186 at PaintDotNet.Effects.BackgroundEffectRenderer.RenderWithClipMask(Effect effect, EffectConfigToken token, RenderArgs dstArgs, RenderArgs srcArgs, Rectangle[] rois, IRenderer`1 clipMaskRenderer) in D:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\PaintDotNet\Effects\BackgroundEffectRenderer.cs:line 161 at PaintDotNet.Effects.BackgroundEffectRenderer.RendererContext.RenderTile(EffectConfigToken token, Int32 tileIndex) in D:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\PaintDotNet\Effects\BackgroundEffectRenderer.cs:line 143 at PaintDotNet.Effects.BackgroundEffectRenderer.RendererContext.RenderNextTile(EffectConfigToken token) in D:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\PaintDotNet\Effects\BackgroundEffectRenderer.cs:line 135 at PaintDotNet.Effects.BackgroundEffectRenderer.ThreadFunction() in D:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\PaintDotNet\Effects\BackgroundEffectRenderer.cs:line 229 --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at PaintDotNet.Effects.BackgroundEffectRenderer.DrainExceptions() in D:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\PaintDotNet\Effects\BackgroundEffectRenderer.cs:line 431 at PaintDotNet.Effects.BackgroundEffectRenderer.Abort() in D:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\PaintDotNet\Effects\BackgroundEffectRenderer.cs:line 387 at PaintDotNet.Effects.BackgroundEffectRenderer.Start() in D:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\PaintDotNet\Effects\BackgroundEffectRenderer.cs:line 333 at PaintDotNet.Menus.EffectMenuBase.<>c__DisplayClass31.<>c__DisplayClass35.b__25() in D:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\PaintDotNet\Menus\EffectMenuBase.cs:line 1006
  7. Here's the plugin which created that pattern: Fibonacci Fill
  8. Fibonacci Fill Wassit? It's a pattern generator. It creates colored squares which spiral outwards from the central point. Each successive square has a side length equal to the sum of the previous two squares' sides. Hence the squares have sides with a length (in pixels) of 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 8+13=21, 21+13=34.... The pattern doesn't change, unless you hit the Threefold checkbox. Other than that, the plugin allows you to adjust the center location and fiddle with the palette. Who dun it? Fibonacci Fill is a collaboration between Ego Eram Reputo and Red Ochre. Red provided all the cool bits - I do concepts and the basic stuff Why? I devised Fibonacci Fill to create backdrops for websites I was creating. Like this one: http://scriptuswebdesign.blogspot.co.nz/ The pattern is interesting and the files extremely small when optimized (like with OptiPNG). Just what the Web Designer ordered! Compatibility: Fibonacci Fill works with both 3.5.11 and 4.0x. Where? You'll find Fibonacci Fill under Effects > Render How? Install this plugin by downloading my plugin pack http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/110145-eers-plugin-pack/ Unzip it and run the installer (written by BoltBait). Restart paint.net. Demo: Three-fold Pattern + Pastel Mix
  9. Forum Rules #15 Welcome to the forum Shark face!
  10. You need to periodically reset the clone stamp origin. If you don't, a linear cloning will eventually 'pick up' the original source pixels rather than those you've cloned.
  11. This plugin might help if you want smaller internal squares which are side by side Gridmaker. If that's too tough to work out - how would a Fibonacci series suit you? This series is built from the center and spirals outwards. Each successive square has a side length the same as the sum of the preceding two squares. In the image, the larges squares are cropped by the edge of the image.
  12. Kitty, 1. Open the image. 2. Go to Adjustments > Posterize or use the keyboard combination Ctrl + Shift + P 3. Make sure the Linked option is checked. 4. Reduce the number of colors to 3 (i.e. the sliders value). Result:
  13. This is lots of fun to play with. I'm strangely attracted I'd love a randomize button as playing with the sliders is quite hit and miss. Brilliant idea to include the color schemes! Any chance we can add our own?
  14. You can apply a scriptlab script to a folder full of images via the Alivate image processor http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=27189. Thinking about your request - I'm not sure it will do the job you want. Alivate applies the same script to each image. You need something that applies a progression. Paint.NET can't perform these types of actions. I'm confident that IrFanView will be able to do this. Try looking it up.
  15. Press F7. This toggles the window between visible and invisible. F5, F6 & F8 do the same for the other windows. If you accidentally dragged the window off the page, you just need to drag it back. Look for it on the edge of the screen.
  16. Many users on this forum are at least trialing the Beta version of PDN 4.0. It works extremely well. It requires Win7 or better. In your case I suspect that you might have a hardware or RAM issue. Dual cores is acceptable (my system is dual) - so it shouldn't be that unless your other specs are at the bottom end of the range. How much RAM do you have installed? How old is the system? I'm guessing that it is quite old? What OS are you running?
  17. I advocate for the AlphaSpace plugin when the background is a flat black or white. The plugin is a little more user friendly to newbs than GCR. Welcome to the forum kraftykittenz! I hope the last two letters of your username indicate that you're a fellow Kiwi?
  18. Thanks Mike. It's how we used to do it before the Shadow Effect plugin made it easy for us
  19. You can get a copy directly from me. Send me your email address in a PM & I'll explain the process.
  20. Removed Lomography from the list due to BoltBait releasing a compatible 4.0 version.
