  1. Update posted. Download in first post. Earlier today, someone posted an issue over on Github about not being able to drag-n-drop images onto the launcher's exe. I have resolved the issue.
  2. The Toolbar already contains all the Toolbox icons. The Toolbar can be customized to a degree: http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/SettingsDialog.html
  3. Make sure you also install the IrfanView plugins. They're available from that same site. That will allow IrfanView to read more filetypes, including .pdn.
  4. That is not something a paint.net plugin can do. However, IrfanView can batch convert .pdn files to .png files. You should use that.
  5. See that padlock icon on your file there in your screenshot? That means you are not the owner of the file, or otherwise don't have write permissions. Click on the "Security" tab, and take a look at the details it gives you. This is pretty self-explanatory. I assume you're just looking a confirmation? In paint.net, click on File, and then click on Save As.
  6. You could try enabling MSI logging, and it may give you a hint to what's going on. msiexec /i PaintDotNet_x64.msi /L*V PdnMsi.log
  7. Looks like you opened an image file that is on a CD, and then tried to save the modified image back to the CD. Or if not a CD, it was a file that was otherwise set to read-only.
  8. A load dialog? As in a dialog to select and open a file?
  9. Ok, that explains it. You're right, it's not an issue with the shading options applied.
  10. When changing the "Clipboard Image Rotation", the image gets a bit noisy... except when set to right angles (0, 90, -90, 180). Are you using any Interpolation when the image is rotated?
  11. @johnsp, That means paint.net was previously installed on your system, but the install has since become corrupted in some way or another. Please use this utility to remove paint.net: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed Afterwards, you should be able to install paint.net anew.
  12. Here's an issue: The "Refresh" button is not properly anchored in the window.
  13. What makes you say that? Nearly everything in v3 works the same way in v4.
  14. Use a format that uses lossy compression. For example, JPG is lossy. PNG is lossless, and thus the lossy compression slider is not applicable for this format.
  15. It's important to note that BoltBait's installer is more of a Self-Extractor, rather than a traditional installer that makes all kinds of changes to the system.
  16. Instead of using the New Layer button, use the Duplicate Layer button. Then draw the beach balls on the layers afterwards.
  17. Hello, can you please make sure the Graphics Driver for your system is up to date? This is the latest version for your CPU/GPU (Intel 2117U): https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25977/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-33-?v=t
  18. Hey TreyH, Which colorspace did you specify when loading the RAW file? Or did you try all of them?
  19. Remove paint.net with this utility: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed Afterwards, install paint.net anew.
  20. Can you see if any this behavior changes when you're in Windows Safe Mode? We need to rule out any 3rd-party software that could be interfering. Can you confirm that the issue goes away if you switch back to paint.net v4.0.10 or v4.0.11? (Switching back is not the solution; this is just for troubleshooting purposes)
  21. SourceForge is on its last leg, and is all but dead. Most projects just use it as a download mirror, and nothing else. SourceForge's new owner is not going to change that. I'd recommend using GitHub instead.
  22. The Plugin Browser by The Dwarf Horde This is an official continuation of the excellent Plugin Browser originally put together by @TechnoRobbo, @Red ochre, @BoltBait, and @Ego Eram Reputo. ~~~~~ The Plugin Browser was designed to make installed plugins easier to locate and identify, especially when a large collection of plugins is installed. The Plugin Browser does this by allowing the User to search alphabetically by plugin name, keyword(s), author or menu location. Included in these searches are the Plugin Title and Description. Once you find a plugin, you can run it right from inside of the Plugin Browser. The Plugin Browser gives the User the ability to Bookmark their favorite plugins and add their comments to bookmarked plugins so they can identify it and make notes about its use. As well as being a search tool, the Plugin Browser is capable of displaying an embedded image which we call the Sample Image. The idea of the Preview Image is to give the User a visual clue to the plugin’s function. In most cases the Sample Image will be an example of the effect or adjustment. The Plugin Browser can also suggest plugins that you don't have but may want to download. Once a month the Plugin Browser downloads a copy of the Plugin Index. This file is used to match keyword searches against plugins by parsing the plugin descriptions from the Index.
