  1. Starting with your original selection, the best way to do this is like this: 1. Add a new layer (and select it if necessary) 2. Press the backspace key. This will fill your selection with your primary color. 3. Press the ESC key to deselect. 4. Use Gaussian Blur. Set the blur amount the size you wish to expand your selection. 5. Use the magic wand tool and set the tolerance to 0. 6. Click in the transparent area of your new layer. 7. Press Ctrl-I to invert your selection. 8. Make your new layer invisible. Select your original layer and you should be all set!
  2. Eeww! Your post just got all sticky! Nice job!
  3. Well, I entered. As much as it pained me to do so. My entry is a total joke. If I win, I blame all of you.
  4. Here is my entry (Roller Coaster): 100% Paint.NET Tools Used: Text, Line, Paint bucket, Square, Circle, Selection, Crop Effects used: Polar Inversion
  5. Once you get used to layers, you'll never go back.
  6. Just the two colors next to each other. Better to put each color on its own layer and feather it.
  7. I know. The point I was trying to make is this: try to put a little thought into your requests. It appears that you are asking for changes simply because there are differences between Paint.NET and Photoshop. I can tell you that Rick has said that he has no plans to morph Paint.NET into Photoshop. Every enhancement that he makes to Paint.NET is because of thorough planning. He is most interested in keeping the features of Paint.NET easily discoverable and easy to use. The request you make in this post makes absolutely no sense. You gave no justification for your request other than that's not the way Photoshop works. You need to get over the fact that these are different programs written by different people. Remember this, Photoshop has an entire company working on it where Paint.NET has only Rick. And, he has a regular job that has nothing to do with Paint.NET. He works on the program in his spare time. So, he has to be very careful what he spends his time doing. Requests like this simply waste his time. And, really, wouldn't you rather him work on Paint.NET 4.0 than have to read threads like this?
  8. What odd bugs? Obviously he's talking about all of the PEBCAK issues.
  9. Just move all the .cs files into a single project, and yes IndirectUI will work fine. Just be sure that all of your effects have different namespaces. BTW, I did it once (hidden images), but I found adding icons to the various effects was difficult. I never could get it to work properly.
  10. Not to worry. All you need is the C# compiler from Microsoft (which is a free download): http://www.microsoft.com/express/vcsharp/
  11. Oh! Oh! Polar Inversion! My Favorite!!! Just kidding. I'm dying inside.
  12. Myrddin, I'm thinking that iyeru42 is systematically going through every screen of Paint.NET and comparing it with Photoshop. Then, when differences are noticed he/she is posting a request on the forum to change Paint.NET to match. @iyeru42, if these differences bother you that much, why don't you just download the source code to Paint.NET and change it yourself? Should be simple, right?
  13. No it is not allowed. As stated above, this is a family friendly forum. Let's keep it that way. My 11 year old daughter reads this forum. OK?
  14. If you only have a little money, you may want to check out older versions of CorelDRAW suite. Some online stores stock older versions (like 9, 10, 11, etc.) for ~$30.
  15. The problem is... I don't want to simply recompile Feather under the new menu. I want to rewrite it. I just haven't found the time. Soon, though. I PROMISE!
  16. Oops! Did I forget to put the [sarcasm] tags in my post? At any rate, welcome to the board and thanks for reading the rules. I'm sure you'll get along fine here. We have lots of friendly members always willing to help.
  17. Please go read the rules: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3446 Then, please explain how many of the rules your post breaks. Welcome to the board.
  18. Have you tried the Conditional Hue/Saturation plugin? viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1102 Good luck.
  19. I'm going to move this post to the troubleshooting and bugs forum.
  20. Which EXIF data is being lost? Perhaps you could show us a "before" and "after" picture.
  21. This can already be done with the Outline Object plugin. Search around for it in the Plugin forum. I'm sure you can find it.
