Not exactly. When I wrote the Soften Portrait effect, I started with the Orton Effect steps and had to simplify them to the point that it would be easy to implement. It is close. But, following the full steps give a better result.

Please understand that Paint.NET will never be a complete replacement for Photoshop. It is written by ONE GUY that already has a full time job doing something else! If you really need those functions, you probably should spend the $600+ for Photoshop.

Notepad can do this if you have it open with unsaved changes. When the shutdown event happens a program can capture it and prevent it from happening. OR, You can change the behavior of your power button. Start > Control Panel > Power Options > Advanced Tab.

By finding a method that works when using standard tools, we can automate that into a plugin. This process is not a waste of time.

Open your jpg image and press the following: Ctrl-A (Select all) Ctrl-C (Copy) Ctrl-Alt-V (Paste to a new image) Ctrl-S (Save) That will strip out most of the metadata from your image.
