  1. It was a little more than 2 lines of code... but, I have built a BETA/Test version of my Selection > Outline effect. Try it out and see if it is what you want. OutlineSelectionSquare.zip If it looks good, I'll make it part of my official plugin pack.
  2. Try using the magic wand to select the object you want to outline, press Ctrl-I to invert the selection, then run Effects > Selection > Outline. Get it in this pack: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/11514- See if that helps. Remember, you should always work at 2x your final size and resize for final render. (for example, if your final graphic is going to be 100x50, create your canvas at 200x100. Do all your work at this size and save it that way as a .pdn file. Then, flatten and resize your image to 100x50 before saving to .png for final display.)

  5. You may want to check out this plugin: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/25458-remove-dust-from-scanned-photos Also, you may want to mention that lowering the opacity of the primary color prior to cloning softens the clone. I like somewhere around 10-20%.

  7. Yes, this is possible. CodeLab supports this. Also, please remember that plugin developers decide where to put their plugins. So, often the placement is arbitrary.
  8. Adjustments only look at the current pixel when computing the resulting pixel. Effects typically look at surrounding pixels when computing the result. Effects > Render plugins don't look at any source pixels when computing a result pixel. For example: Hue/Saturation is an Adjustment. Gaussian Blur is an Effect.
  9. Here are a couple of plugins you can try: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/4591-seamless-texture-maker-ymd100718 and http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/2244-seamless-texture-helper-plugin
  10. Not sure what the problem is with that plugin. In the mean time, you could use the built-in glow effect found under Effects > Photo > Glow. If you're having a problem with a specific plugin (which you are) site rules say you should post in that thread so the effect's author can help you. For fast effects, post here: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/19364-hardware-accelerated-blur-pack-v24/ Closing this.
  11. When you resize the image, be sure to change the resampling method to "nearest neighbor" and see if that helps.
  12. This would be handy. But, if you think about it, it's not really necessary. You can always adjust the size and placement of the selection after it is made by using the
  13. Maybe this? http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/25458-remove-dust-from-scanned-photos/ It removes white specks from scanned photographs. If not, could you show us a sample image with the problem you're trying to solve?
  14. OK, here's a solution for you: Create your own favorites menu. You can do this for any plugin where the source code has been published. Simply recompile the plugin using CodeLab and specify "!Favorites" or "~Favorites" as your menu. (Using "!" puts Favorites at the top of the list and "~" would put it at the bottom as the list is alphabetized.) By giving it a unique DLL filename, you can run both copies of the plugin (original menu and favorites menu).
  15. I deal with the overload of available plugins by simply not installing EVERY SINGLE PLUGIN EVAR!
  16. Make sure you don't have an active selection. That is, press Ctrl-D before using the text tool. If you try to put text outside of an active selection, nothing happens.
  17. As a matter of fact, that picture was taken during the 80's.
  18. Try clicking the "Toggle Edit Mode" switch in the upper left corner of the text entry box (just above the B).

  20. Variable sized dots is for halftoning. Which we already have a nice plugin for in Ed Harvey's pack.
  21. I believe stippling uses fixed sized dots.
  22. The two images I used were taken in my front yard about a week apart. I tried to stand in the same spot, but that was done from memory and it wasn't perfect. It was, however, close enough to be convincing. For the second shot, my daughter was standing on the left end of the teeter-totter.
