BoltBait
Personally about the domnios, dont use it as jpeg...I can tell around the letters that it is jpeg...PNG all the way!!! Meanwhile... your sig is 140K bytes and mine is 10K. Download: BoltBait's Plugin Pack | CodeLab | and a Free Computer Dominos Game
Illnab1024
PNG's...aren't that great. Sadly, a fair portion of america is still using 56kbps or lower. And i think, that in this case, A gif would suffice fairly well, keeping about 9.6kb, and also not noising it. EDIT: For a number of reasons. For one, the image is small and does not contain that many unique colors. In addition, the difference in colors is so small, it is easy to dither without a noticeable change. And, there are sharp lines involved that a jpeg would noise around. ~~
RaveN
Yeah GIF can produce amazing results...I don't care about size though hehe.... Either way, I don't know if this would work, but you could try making the letters in png and copying and pasting it to that one...then you might not get the blur. I personally HATE that blur that Jpeg produces..

In Portugal there isn't 56kps net connection! And Portugal is a less technologic country than America...
crosswalker
yeah well, companies here in America are still into charging the big bucks for Broadband, and, unfortunately, 56K survives.
BoltBait
I personally HATE that blur that Jpeg produces.....said the guy with a sig so blurry that it gives me a headache to look at it. I'll try to save it in GIF format on Monday when I go back to work just to see what kind of file size it generates. Illnab1024
No, you can't mix filetypes in one image. BoltBait
OK, here is the GIF file (15.5K): And, here is the JPG file (15K): Which one is better? I looked at both using Start > All Programs > Accessories > Accessibility > Magnification. Honestly, the JPG file is *way* better quality. RaveN
I like it yay yay! You can paste it into it as another layer, before saving. Doing the letters on a transparent background and making a new layer. It works.

trickman
I know how you did it: do 2 gradients, one purple-ish and the other blue-ish and then follow your tut (http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=1698). Then in a new layer draw a line in the middle and then do a swirl effect. There should be a zoom blur effect, it would be really cool and useful to my comics... Rick Brewster
Of course there's a zoom blur effect. We just haven't made it public yet. *whistle* The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
Illnab1024
@trickman the swirl is a screenish glow layer type blur thingy...lol... stemming from a black to white gradient @rick: Is that another way of saying "We haven't gotten around to it yet"? Now I have to implement it...lol ~~

BoltBait
anyone have a tut on clouds??? grrr i need cool looking clouds for my new sig iam makeing... Make several layers of white circles. Change the opacity of each layer for a varied effect... Image > Flatten Effects > Blurs > Guassian Blur (~20-40) I'm not sure how "cool" it looks, but, there ya go! EDIT: For best results, you could just GIS some clouds and copy/paste... Download: BoltBait's Plugin Pack | CodeLab | and a Free Computer Dominos Game
