racerx
Well I started with 750 frames, but sub-divided by 2 to reduce file size. The result is smaller size, but not as smooth. This was a time-lapse shot that I converted to animated gif.

racerx
Nice update. It can now save directly to *.gif and the "reverse" command works great. It will be a big help when making loop animations. Thanks.

It will be a big help when making loop animations. Thanks. Yeah 'reverse' has been inspired by your bouncing ball. It reminded me that Yellowman requested something like this long-time ago in an other thread. 'reverse' should get an optional parameter how many frames you should reverse. midora
OK, only images of inanimate objects from now on... Animation in general is fine. But as quite often in life: Less is more. For me the image was still on the OK side, but someone has to decide, this is nothing against you.

mottoman
There seems to be a few people on here who get this, but how do I create Animated gif to start with ? Does this plugin do it or do I need some other software to do it before I open a gif into pdn ?
midora
There seems to be a few people on here who get this, but how do I create Animated gif to start with ? Does this plugin do it or do I need some other software to do it before I open a gif into pdn ? It all depends which kind of animation you like to do. - Some people using 3d renderers to create high quality frames. - Some are using online tools to generate effects on a still image or to convert a text string to a fixed set of animation types. - Some using the plugin to overlay an existing gif with a text - Some are doing the 'hard' way and draw frame by frame using the plugin to control background, foreground and timings of the frames. - Some just like to create slideshows which is easy with the plugin The plugin zip contains an example folder. If you are opening the .pdns in the folder you can see how the frames are setup und tagged in the layer names. The readme has a basic howto section. So install the plugin, load one of the example pdns, manipulate some layers, save it as .agif or .gif and load the result with AnimateIt.Effect to check the generated gif by stepping through the single frames. Summary: Animated gifs are the digital variant of flipbooks in the good old non-digital world. Some people are using animated gifs to store video sequences but this is not a quite good idea because the files are getting too big, you should use movie file formats for this. midora
If there is time later on (after a first published version of the plugin) I would like to add more automation features like the water reflection transition which is so popular. Here a single image converted to a gif with a water reflection transition. This one is on giphy. Edited March 25, 2015 by midora
mottoman
Thank you for the explanation. I would just like to create small pictures with water ripple or an object moving across a page. I will download and try to understand a little more about it. By the way, how do you switch off AnimGIF.dll. ?
