jwpatser, I think you should ask for help with what is shown here at a Windows 7 tech support forum.

Does anybody know where this tutorial is?
Sarkut replied to Vermiculus's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Vermiculus, Maybe this could be adapted. -
hsl, Your NET Framework may need to be repaired. Because the NET Framework up to 3.5 SP1 is included in the Windows 7 OS, I believe that using sfc /scannow is the correct way to repair the NET Framework. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/15 ... ecker.html

jwpatser, You may need to use the Cleanup utility mentioned in the previous link. Or maybe not. Because the NET Framework up to 3.5 SP1 is included in the Windows 7 OS, I believe that using sfc /scannow is the correct way to repair the NET Framework. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/15 ... ecker.html ========================================= When you next do the Paint.NET installation, download the installation pack from here: http://www.dotpdn.com/downloads/pdn.html Disconnect from the internet before beginning to install.

eternalwonderer, You haven't said what OS version you are using, if it's Win7, or Vista in some cases, this link may be relevant.

Gigabyte, For a 1603 error, try downloading the current installation pack, and installing manually. (Rather than using auto-update.) ]http://www.dotpdn.com/downloads/pdn.html Choose the Custom install option, install to a non-default destination as detailed in this post:

jwpatser, Have you had Paint.NET installed previously on this system? If you are having difficulty updating or uninstalling, be sure to read this thread. Please post what OS version you have, ( XP, Vista, etc. ) and what OS Service Pack level is installed. Also, are you fully current on Windows Updates?

Image on top of Image??
Sarkut replied to tryingtolearnthis's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
tryingtolearnthis, Open your Image B with Paint.NET. Next, in the top menu - Layers > Import from File, import your Image A. If you have already cut the center out of Image A, as you've said, then you should now have the background showing through the center. If it looks the way you want it to, in the top menu - Image > Flatten. File > Save as ... Save as PNG. If this doesn't work, then pls. post the two images here so that we can see better what is happening. -

Just to add on to what oma has posted, Displacement Map is not yet listed in the individual plugin section of the index. It is listed in the plugins by author section though. It's part of the Curtis plugin pack.
