  1. Now that make sense, thanks for clearing that up, pryo.
  2. That won't be necessary. PDN v3.5.5 now detects new fonts when it's installed, and I have already have a bookmark on my computer to open the Fonts directory, paste the new font, and then PDN will detect the new one.
  3. Oh that is a sweet looking installer! My question, could it install multiple plug-ins, or do you have to add them individually?
  4. I remember seeing a tutorial on how to make different style of emboss text, pillow, hard, soft, and etc, but I could not find it anywhere.
  5. I wonder what kind of algorithm it used to achieve that, making it sharp and unblurry, and that would be a sweet addition to PDN.
  6. Many, many moons ago, it did have start up screen, but now, it doesn't, and I'm very glad.
  7. Hey Oma! It's good to see you are still posting your artwork. That's a great new work, and I've missed you terribly!
  8. I have written a tutorial that will answer your question. The tutorial is in a PDF file, so that mean you can download it, print it out, and go through it step by step.
  9. I have never had a virus being downloaded when I use plug-ins. In fact, I don't ever hear people complain about virus, and they are safe. Many of the plug-ins were written by respected members of this board, so you are safe. To be safer, make sure your virus database is up to date before downloading plug-ins.
  10. Edit: Nevermind since the OP didn't acknowledge my effort to explain about dimension size.
  11. You would think that the idiot would make his own logo and everything. He pretty much copied and pasted everything from the PDN website. What a cookie!
  12. That's why I don't gamble. Rolling the chance when the odds are stacked against you? No offense, but I'll take a check I work for by sweats, blood, tears, and a few choice swear words. Seriously though, I like the television set. I remember those way back. I used to help my grandmother set the VCR when it first came out, and I was 8 years old!
  13. You need a scanner that is designed to scan the negative. I have always wanted to be able to edit some of my negatives I have in my fire safe box, and those equipment are not cheap.
  14. Is this something you want to know how to make? If so, then the best way to get started is use line tool, and then work from there. If you want a more detailed instruction, drop me a PM, and I'll see if I can't write you a short step by step how I made mine. One of the best resource for Coat of Arms is found at this web site.
  15. Your response had me thinking about the magic wand and it's selection on XP. I have noticed with the v3.5.5 that it is more jagged than it was with v.3.36. Is it using similar rendering engine or is that a separate engine? Using dpy's AA and BoltBait's Feather plug-ins, sometime in tandem, actually does a great job of smoothing out the edges. I am sure that upgrading to Win 7 will take care of that, as I have read it on your blog, and right now, it's about finding the right PC to do that. My PC is currently 6 years old. Not trying to get off-topic from the original poster's question.
  16. I find that using dpy's Anti-Alias Assistant to be quite helpful to smooth out the text. Another option is to upgrade to Win 7, as I am told that Win 7 offer superior text rendering than XP does. I'm still stuck on anarchic XP. Edit: Added link to dpy's plug-in pack.
  17. I sincerely hope the author would be able to update the plugin for v3.5. It crashes when I play with the settings, and yes, I'm using v2.0 beta. Here's the crash log: Hidden Content: Crash Log
  18. Try this tutorial by flip. I know it's a small glass pane, but it will give you the general idea of how to make a navigational bar like that. Then when you have done so, download Simon Brown's Create Image Map plugin, and you'll have to code it everything manually.
  19. Perhaps I'm crazy, but I don't ever recall seeing a Gamma option in the PNG file compression dialog box. I know that Adobe Photoshop have the ability to create Web safe color pallete, but I don't think that PDN has that capability yet. What says you other plugin authors? Pryochild, Simon Brown?
  20. Depending on where you got your reference picture for Saturn, that doesn't really remotely look like Saturn. Don't let my critique discourage you because from looking at your picture, you obviously have a good grasp on the program. Keep at it, my friend.
  21. Hello there, Frontcannon. I appreciate you stopping by and commenting in my gallery about my glass texture. I would like to also apologize to you for stomping on you in the Rant thread about BP's oil spill. I was in a bad mood that day and reading your post just ticked me the wrong way. I'll try and go through your gallery when I have time, and give you a critique on what I think.
  22. Personally, I would have liked to have seen more of the car being blended with the elementals. I get what you were trying to do, but I think showing more of the car would had been outstanding. Thanks for commenting in my gallery, and I felt that I should return the favor by commenting in yours. I'll try to stop by more often.
  23. New image update alert on 1st page.
  24. Another alternative is to download Simon Brown's "That Other App" plug-in, which when ran, will take you to another program that supports pressure sensitivity. You could use the GIMP (shudders) or ArtWeaver (which seems to be fairly initutive to use, and more closely mimics Photoshop than the GIMP does).
  25. Jerry, if you had read back a page, you would had seen that Sarkut had posted, "Help>Plugins," which, when clicked, takes you directly to the Plugin section of the entire forum. The problem I forsee with adding a link to the Plugin Index is this: suppose someone, God forbid, Google, comes and offer Rick something he cannot refuse, then it becomes Google's brand of Paint.NET. Now, say, that Google decides to revamp the entire system, and then the link to the Plugin becomes useless. Or suppose this server that the forums is on crashes and the staff are forced to move it to an entire new server again. That would mean a release of new Paint.NET to address the issue. I think it's far easier to simply code the link to Plugin to a redirector page, which then in turn would direct the user to the correct address of the Plugin section. The redirector is quicker to edit and easier to maintain than to code Paint.NET and release it.
