  1. If it's screenshot of the plugin settings then feel free to post it here.
  2. Guess is slipped by. Must have been posted the same day as the annual Moderators picnic <thread title edited>
  3. Press F7 or use Window menu > Reset Window Locations.
  4. Not once the line is committed to the canvas. Once this has happened, the line ceases to be anything but a number of colored pixels. In order to move it you need to select the line in some way, or move the whole layer. You can see now the merit of having the line on it's own layer. It make moving, resizing and rotating so much easier if you can apply the transformation to an entire layer, without affecting any other elements.
  5. Yes it is. The points are very small though. Using Clouds you get to more irregular shapes with a larger mass of 'like' pixels clumped together.
  6. For some easy textures, you can't go past the Clouds effect + a little distortion. 1. Set the Primary color to a nice pastel green, and the secondary color to a light blue. 2. Now go to Effects > Render > clouds and play with that effect until you get something nice. I generally use a high Roughness setting. 3. Now try Effects > Distort > Frosted Glass or Dents or Crystalize (my favorite!)
  7. Hi Oho, welcome to the forum. Your questuion is not a tutorial. So it does not belong in the tutorial section of the forum. I'll move it to the correct area for you. <moved to Paint.NET Discussion & questions> You managed to find the Tutorials > Textures section of the forum. Is there nothing there that gave you inspiration? How about this tutorial? http://forums.getpai...ect-by-request/
  8. What version of Paint.NET are you using? I ask because I suspect this "Version=3.36.3158.38062" means you're using an old version of Paint.NET. If this is the case, updating Paint.NET to the latest version will solve your problem.
  9. Find myself doing this too. (I think it's the first time I've seen it published)
  10. In the first post of the Shadow plugin thread. Here is the relevant section:
  11. Try it again. I just did and it works fine.
  12. 1. Yes, BUT pressure sensitivity is not supported. 2. Netbook - yes if it's running windows and has the .NET framework installed. I have Paint.NET installed on a humble netbook with Win7 Starter for example. It's slow due to the low spec'd machine, but it works. A tablet would have the same minimum requirements (is there one?). Detailed system specs: http://www.getpaint.net/download.html
  13. True the plugin is a bit slow, but it is easy to use and seems to produce exactly the results you're looking for. Did you note the section in bold in the plugin thread? Create a selection on the lower layer to define the 'bottom' of the effect. I usually run it by duplicating the object layer, then running it on the lower of the two layers. Is that how you did it?
  14. I'm not going to discuss the relative merits of WIA vs TWAIN on this forum. You have your solution.
  15. The Twain plugin adds the support you need. No it doesn't have access to the Paint.NET menu, but you'll find it under the effects menu (Tools submenu). Hackish? Use it or don't, the choice is yours. That's how plugins integrate with Paint.NET. Reading material: (wiki - WIA) "It is said to be more flexible than TWAIN because it is a standardized interface that doesn't require a tight bundling of scanner software and driver (TWAIN-only scanners are often limited to functions that are enabled in its driver software bundle). Most recent scanners support WIA. (wiki - TWAIN) "The latest version of the TWAIN standard is TWAIN 2.1, released on July 8, 2009"
  16. May Update Five new effects this month, including a new filetype to play with: IFF filetype - @rmtew Filetype. Uses the SDLimage library to extend support to the IFF filetype. Laplacian pyramid filter - @MichaelVinther Improve the overall illumination of photos, typically when the scene is in shadow. Can smooth or enhance details in a photo without smoothing edges. Normal Map Renderer - @eekysam Renders normal maps. Has a cinematic light that which can be moved around the virtual 3D surface. Also has exponential drop-off/spread settings which can be used to modify sharpness, contrast, brightness, and angle effect (dialog is deceptively simple). Note: does not support the normal map's blue channel (z offset). Overblur - @Red ochre Effect useful for making textures or as a passable sharpen effect. You can compare the blurred picture to the original and choose how much of that change to apply. Recolour choice - @Red ochre 8 different ways to select and replace a colour.
  17. TWAIN is old technology and WIA is new. If you haven't spotted WIA then you must be using some old technology. There is a plugin that adds TWAIN support - you can find it here: Twainable
  18. I came, I saw, I moved the topic to the Paint.NET Discussion & questions section (disclaimer: EER does not consider himself higher caliber than jim100361) In answer to your question - try the Recolor Tool
  19. Easier than popping by and handing him cash! Check out the Donate page on the PDN website. There is another option mentioned.
  20. ..where the beer does flow and men chunder. Can you hear, can you hear the thunder? You better run, you better take cover. (Men at Work)
  21. Yes it is entirely your own work - so it is yours to do with as you please. PLEASE DO donate - I know it makes Rick happy Make more and create your own calendar?
  22. ^^ Bezel heaven! BTW I'm renaming this thread with a more descriptive title.
