Misleading download add with possible virus
Ego Eram Reputo replied to xion03's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
It's been noted frequently that some ads on the website are misleading. Deliberately so. See http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/27383-mypcbackupcom-and-downloadsnappycom-links-sleazy/ I recommend you install an Ad Blocker or use the link David posted. <moved from Troubleshooting to paint.net Discussion & Questions> -
Can you help me find this plugin
Ego Eram Reputo replied to thegraygoo's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Try these: Posterize Alpha Posterize in HSV Space Posterize+ -
Displaying intermediate results
Ego Eram Reputo replied to MJW's topic in Plugin Developer's Central
Don't make the mistake of assuming you know how this could be done. You probably don't have an inkling of how the pdn system is structured. A programmer like Rick will generally find it quite offensive if you say things like this. -
Share Your Custom Paint.NET Brushes
Ego Eram Reputo replied to Simon Brown's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
There is no restriction posted on the use of that brush, nor are there any caveats contained in the zip file. You're safe to use it as you please -
Can you help me find this plugin
Ego Eram Reputo replied to thegraygoo's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
I'm wondering if this is a built-in feature and not a plugin. Have a look at Adjustments > Posterize. Is that the effect? Online Documentation: http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/AdjustmentsMenu.html -
Paint.NET crashes when saving into .pdn file
Ego Eram Reputo replied to Dlott's topic in Troubleshooting & Bug Reports
The log is not attached. If you can provide the log it would help us to help you -
You can install the Alpha version alongside 3.5.11 if you have concerns about plugin compatibility or stability. I used to do this but have recently moved to 4.0 exclusively. I've found there are very few plugins which won't work with the Alpha version of 4.0.

December Update Four new plugins this month including two from our prolific friend @TechnoRobbo and one each from @Martin Osieka and @Red ochre. Color Matrix - @Martin Osieka. Transform pixels under selection in the active layer using a transformation matrix to manipulate the individual RGBA channels. Many predefined matrices are included as well as the ability to save your own. Scribble - @Red ochre. Change a photographic image to look like a hand drawn picture. Many presets including; coloured pencil drawing, graphite pencil, cross-hatched ink and scratchboard. Also the ability to save your settings. TR's FreeWarp - @TechnoRobbo. Distortion tool which reshapes an image by stretching it’s detail. TR's SplineMaster - @TechnoRobbo. Draw free-form Splines (complex curves through positioning nodes). Draw on an existing image, an empty layer or using an image as a guide. Numerous line types and end cap styles. Later release adds the ability to load, save and edit splines. Enjoy!

You blogged about providing your own translations with a clever bit of kit you developed... (http://blog.getpaint.net/2011/04/17/paint-net-in-24-more-languages-tldr-yes/) Is that going nowhere? Seems a shame....

Missing files: Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable
Ego Eram Reputo replied to midora's topic in Preview Center
Here's what I did... I installed 3.5.11 over 4.0.5079 then duplicated the 3.5.11 folder. Renamed it. Then reinstalled 4.0.5079 Both versions are working sweetly. -
Missing files: Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable
Ego Eram Reputo replied to midora's topic in Preview Center
I ran both versions side-by-side for some time on my Win7 SP1 system. I used exactly those instructions to duplicate the folder. Worked like a dream, so I expect that there is some other issue at fault here. I'll re-install 3.5.11 to see if it will cooperate with the latest version of 4.0. -
Text justification - how?

David.Atwell has correctly pointed out that the thread this question was originally appended to is old. I've split the question and responses out to this new thread. -

HELP - VLC media player is not responding
Ego Eram Reputo replied to davidmarch's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
You're in the wrong place. This is a support forum for paint.net. <closed> -
Hi Achenaton. Sorry you didn't receive the timely assistance you should have. What you will need to do is read through this thread Troubleshooting Installation thread. Once you've done that, re-read the bit about the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. Then go and download a copy. The utility is very powerful and should be used as directed to remove all traces of paint.net. Once removed you should be able to download a fresh copy and reinstall it. Please let me know via this thread how you get on. Good luck!

Help with a technique (maybe) (hopefully).

I agree with pdnnoob - the black text is better. Three examples using the technique pdnnoob described: -
Can I get cover feedback?
Ego Eram Reputo replied to GreggBell's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
I like it. Very clean and nicely contrasting colors. The text and illustration certainly stand out! Of course that by-line is going to get you stoned to death Minor adjustments: 1. Title could be larger. 2. Author could also be made larger and/or relocated to fill some of the space immediately above it.
