  2. Just something I found interesting to do Google Diamond Tower for the true image. Mines a little doctored.

  4. I think you mean the text caret (the blinking line at the text insertion point). I agree, it is difficult to see. I should have noticed that. I'll change the color.

  6. Many thanks to those who voted for me . Congratulations to @MadJik, @MJW & @barbieq25. It was a fun theme and my Beer Glass was adapted from this tutorial. Great entries from you all, such variety and imagination. Many thanks to @Toey for his hosting. Ha, ha - I've just noticed @toe_head2001's new signature.

  7. Congratulations to @Pixey for the very impressive mug of beer. Every part was well done, but I particularly love the foam. @MadJik's cocktail glass is excellently rendered, with the shading of the base and the colored cast shadow standout features. @barbieq25's subtle glass shading is most effective and quite elegant. The tilted angle is a clever touch. Thanks to @toe_head2001 for hosting! (Thanks, also, to @AndrewDavid for telling me how the achieve the partial erasure I used to make the ice cubes look submerged!)

  10. Congratulations to Pixey, Woodsy, and MadJik's. All very impressive entities. Congratulations, too, to barbieq25 and Maximilian on their excellent entries. I also think Djisves's entry is quite stylish. Lots of variety and quality in this contest. Thanks to Pixey for hosting!

  11. I certainly did I had almost forgotten I had a similar project from a birthday card for a friend from last year, and then it suddenly dawned on me that I could recycle parts of it as a base for something new and hopefully catchy. So, thanks to all supporters for the reps and votes and also to Pixey for the ongoing hosting of contests, and greetings also to all fellow participants

  15. I stumbled across this thread looking for something else and it inspired me to try the tut out. I'm still tweaking some of the more streaky parts. I didn't have my mouse earlier.

  17. Mini-tutorial on my dished buttons: 1. open a reasonably sized, single layer canvas - I generally use the default 800x600 (NB: it doesn't have to be square). 2. fill the entire canvas with your base color. 3. open Effects > Render > Shape3D. 4. change the Depth Radius to around 0.3. This gives the button a nice domed appearance. 5. turn on Antialiasing. Level 4 or 5 is perfect to eliminate the rough outer rim. 6. increase the Strength of Light to 1.2 7. change the Specular Highlight to 0.1 8. hit Ok. 9. duplicate the layer. 10. the upper layer should be selected. If not, select it. 11. press Ctrl+Shift+Z to open the Rotate/Zoom dialog 12. hold Shift down while you drag the outer roll control to the 180 degree position. 13. reduce the zoom to around 0.8 14. if required, use the pan feature to recenter the reduced image. You could use Align Object, but I'm lazy and just eyeball it. 15. hit OK 16. apply Effects > Blurs > Gaussian Blur on the upper layer at radius of 25 or so. 17. flatten and save,
