The guy's name is Dohko, a character from the manga and anime series Saint Seiya which probably most of you never heard of (I understand the series wasn't very popular in English-speaking countries, though it remains a classic in Japan, France, and much of Latin America). The tiger —done with TR's SplineMaster and colored with Red's Gradients Galore— is tattooed on his back and has lots to do with his power (called cosmos in the series). All PdN, both faces done by hand based on two stills from the anime only for reference. Hope you like it5 points

Having absolutely no clue about anime or manga characters; I used the sample #1 DrueDale provided, as a reference. I was able to get my mouse to curve only so much, thus the beautiful free flowing lines of the original are sadly missing (as if I could have done them justice anyway ).4 points

Version 2.5 posted. This version makes it much easier to input and change chart data. Also fixes the GUI on HiDPI.4 points

Version 1.4 posted. Fixes an off-by-one bug where the bottom pixels and the right pixels were being clipped. Panning should also have a bit more precision; I switched from using int types to float types in a few places, and the pan control now has 3 decimal places.3 points

It's bound to happen sooner or later. You're working away on your latest masterpiece, then BAM! A window in paint.net disappears! Lawks! What to do?? Quick - do this.....Use the function keys F5 to F8 to toggle the missing window back into view. So which function key does what? To restore the Tools Window To restore the History Window To restore the Layers Window To restore the Colors Window But WAIT! There's more! Seen these icons in the top right corner of paint.net's main window? These do the same job as the function keys. Click the appropriate icon to toggle the visibility of the Utility Window. IF ALL ELSE FAILS... If none of these tricks bring back your windows and you're using v4.0.10+... You can now hold Ctrl+Shift while clicking on the window icons in order to reset their location and docking. Ctrl+Shift along with the appropriate hotkey (F5, F6, F7, F8) also does the trick. Now you can relax and get on with finishing that amazing thing you were working on!1 point

These are Yuzuriha and Shion, two characters from Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas. For this piece I developed a technique to turn an anime still —usually colored, since anime is made for TV— into its black and white counterpart similar to what is seen in manga —because manga pictures are usually black and white so as to be printed in magazines at a relatively low cost, with soft shadings or crosshatchings where lighting is needed. This is the anime capture used as source. The result would be more manga-like if the sky were grayish, but I chose to depart from the norm and use a bluish sky for contrast.1 point

Step 4, Exhale slowly and evenly--but do exhale. I can't reach through the screen to perform CPR if you drop.1 point

I chose parts of the girls shirt and jeans and used Red's Facet effect. to produce something as in this image. Then I just duplicated the layer several times and moved the pieces around.1 point

I know mosaic effects have been done before, but hopefully this one is different enough that someone will find it useful. Uses path brush settings. (Found under Artistic) User Interface: Control size: Sliders determine average size of tiles in pixels. Otherwise they determine how many tiles across and down. Tesserae across & Tesserae down: will also affect image due to changes in sampling. lock: when selected, the above sliders will be locked together. Tile irregularity: variation from square tiles to more irregular. Cement Thickness: pixel width between tiles. Cement Color: color between tiles. Reseed: generates new random tile shapes Blend Factors/Positions: These affect the path brush, Something to experiment with. AntiAlias: Does what it says, hopefully Here's an example of a more abstract effect with different brush settings: Tesserae.zip1 point

Done. Version 1.1.0.2 posted. Note to plugin authors whose plugins are listed under the "- unknown -" list item: Please don't forget to add author info to AssemblyCompany. For example: [assembly: AssemblyCompany("toe_head2001")] If you're using CodeLab, then it's obvious where the author info goes... I myself am guilty of leaving it blank in a few of my plugins. Those will be updated soon. Unfortunately, easier said than done. There aren't that many plugins without author info anyway, so not worth the effort. Creating an "- unknown -" list item only required adding 3 lines of code.1 point

Once again due to low turn out in this weeks SOTW Manga / Animee comp, I will extend it for one more week only (Jan 6) Will take it from there to see if there are enough entries to set up the poll. There is not much interest in SOTW in past months, let's hope at least two or three more entries can be submitted.1 point
