Ed Harvey Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 (edited) 2007-09-15 "Safe" versions of of the Lattice and Weave effects are now available as part of the 'Ed Harvey Effects' package, and so have been removed... 2007-05-27 Added some example images. 2007-05-14 A couple of new new effects. WARNING: These effects do not work correctly if you have any selection active; In fact they could frak-up things so badly that even undo cannot rescue you. They should only be used on whole layers...I'm not kidding - you have been warned! OK, here are a couple of effects that will probably send Rick into apoplexy because they do NOT 'play-nice' with the PDN plug-in system. Hence the awful pun in the menu name... Ed-gregious [*:9a88a]Fast Blur [*:9a88a]Dither - Floyd-Steinberg HalfTone [*:9a88a]Dither - Atkinson HalfTone Zip package (all Ed's Effects) >> EdHarveyEffects.zip (Zip provided by @ReMake and available until Ed edits this post) Fast Blur The Fast Blur is, as it's name suggests, many times faster than the 'standard' Paint.Net implementation; However, user responsiveness is traded off for overall speed... you will not get any visual feedback during the effect calculation and the UI can be a bit 'jerky'. Dither - Floyd-Steinberg HalfTone The classic error-diffusion dither. Dither - Atkinson HalfTone This dither has an interesting pattern, and can be better at maintaining details in an image, but loses the extreme shadows and highlights. Yata Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 Working well with something selected using Atlkinson Dither So dose the Floyd And as for the Fast Blur it was a little clunky trying to move the slider. Also works good with selections. Down Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 Weave is extremely cool. I tried to achieve that effect with tile reflections and fragments.... And Lattice I like very much. Techy. Good work again. Quote •♪♫♥♫♪• |- The Rules -|- çobblestones -|- CaMo -|- MeTaL -| ╠═╧╨»Φ«╨╤═╣

OmgWtfBbq Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Yep newest version, I had already used cross blur once and chucked it in again then crash. If it makes a difference I had just used Tile Reflection and a few Zoom blurs. Quote

Ash Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Weave & Fast blur is very cool May I ask if you can make Weave Size go above 100? Found a bug with Weave, Using on a layer with image everything seems fine. But if use on layers with nothing (transparent). If you move around either sliders, it will keep all angle and size effect on screen (does not refresh) and soon will be just a black filled screen. Thanks for your time. OmgWtfBbq Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 I found that too Ash ^^ Really screws up the session doesn't it Quote
Ash Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 A way to get around that bug for now: Adjust settings to your liking on layer with image, click OK. Then Undo, pick the layer you want to Use Weave on, Use waeve again with settings alreasy set @ what you want. I'm sure a fix will come soon How about A waeve effect with a random look, so it looks like bricks or tiles like....maybe it won't be called waeve.....hmmmmmm Quote All creations Ash + Paint.NET [ Googlepage | deviantArt | Club PDN | PDN Fan ]
Ash Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 The bug allowed me to do this. Waeve----Size--click on slider, 20--40---60 and this is what you wil get.... It's pretty cool, maybe keep it as an option?? Clicking on angle 20--40--60--80--will give another cool effect Kryptonite!! Quote All creations Ash + Paint.NET [ Googlepage | deviantArt | Club PDN | PDN Fan ]
