TimAllen Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 (edited) Hi, im trying to paint these sprites red. They are the cushion part of a chair: Anyway, the problem is, I can't seem to get a good result. I've tried the color adjustments plugin, tuning temperature, hue etc, I can't get a good red. I would like the color 8C243F for example. I've tried the flood fill paint thing and it gets rid of the texture, I can't seem to adjust it so it retains the pixels that make it look like something that isn't just a square solid red block. How would you change the color then? For context, here is the 3d model of the chair: Edited December 13, 2020 by TimAllen Quote
ardneh Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 Try this: Fill a layer above the chair with red. Set Layer Properties to Overlay. 1 Quote
Ladybug Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 Not sure if this is the outcome you want but you can also try it this way: Set Primary color to the red you want Select the seat cushions with the Magic Wand Apply the plugin Manual color in the Color menu 1 Quote Click HERE to see my Pictorium of images I have worked on. Ladybug Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 If you scroll to the second post in the link below the file is there. Be sure to change the extension to .zip otherwise the file won't let you open it to get the .dll file. Copy the Manual color dll file to your effects folder in paint.net. If you have the store bought version, there is another place where that file should go but I am not sure where. I am sure you can find the answer around here. Be sure to close paint.net before you copy the file so when you re-open the plug in should be there. Good luck, I hope it is what you were looking for. Post is Here Hi, this is the result: Tried tweaking the two bars there on the manual color plugin, I cant seem to get a proper red color. With the red layer method, using multiply I got this one: This is the color I was expecting so I will just use this one. Thanks for input Edited December 14, 2020 by TimAllen Quote
Ladybug Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 You are welcome. The multiply layer one is a much richer red color. Glad you got your color Quote Click HERE to see my Pictorium of images I have worked on. You were once wild here. Don't let them tame you. ~ Isadora Duncan
lynxster4 Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 @TimAllen You could also try ColorFlip plugin. I use this one a lot.
