  1. I like the way I can produce interesting frames for my images. I have experimented with various images files, its placement and the amount of transparent space around the central image to produce interesting frames. I erased all of the non-frame stuff at the center so that I can place my main image.
  2. @MJW! Thanks for all of your efforts! Here is a creation of mine using Shape3D:
  3. @Xhin I am really enjoying your plugin effects! I used your Rectangular Inversion to create both the picture frame and the graphic that was framed.
  4. Make sure that you view both tutorials! When you use ShapeMaker you can save the project as an XML document by saving the Project in Dwarf Horde Project file DHP format. When you do this you can come back and rework your image as a vector file. While using the ShapeMaker plugin you can access its User's Manual in PDF file format for additional info. ShapeMaker Tutorial Part I https://youtu.be/J2-c8pOn08Y ShapeMaker Tutorial Part II https://youtu.be/_OzPC2kHpew My hope is that at some point you can save the ShapeMaker Project file as SVG , EPS, and Ai formats so that they can be worked on further in other image editing apps.
  5. Your best bet in Paint.NET is to resize your image ~ 1000% and use the ShapeMaker plugin by the Dwarf Horde to trace a line drawing of the vehicle on a transparent layer.
  6. You don't remove objects the way you are attempting. You can use the Eraser Tool to remove it or you can use the Rectangular Select or the Lasso Select Tool and then Delete Key remove an object. From: Help Files (the official paint.net documentation) https://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/SelectionTools.html
  7. It is possible to have an image show different DPI's when viewed from different softwares; even though the image has not changed. The best way to view the image properties is to use Properties option in Windows. This reveals the Exif data saved with your images. Most of the images that I create with Paint.NET start as a 5000 x 5000 pixel canvas @ 96 DPI. At those image settings my image should print nicely as a 52 x 52 inch poster. It would also look amazing as a 10 x 10 inch print. Many users get resolution and DPI confused and should read or watch videos on the subject. There is a good article in the Paint.NET forum on this subject. I find that every few months I have to refer forum members to the link:
  8. The Baseline TIFF Specification 6.0 is a lossless image file format that has not been updated since 2002, but is supported by most graphics app since its introduction in 1992. I save all of my works first as PDN files and then my final flatten layers as a TIFF. There are other updates to TIFF but I am not aware that Paint.NET supports it.
  9. Opaque white inks are typically used in textile printers and is expensive. Even the small format textile printers are expensive. I think that both Epson and HP make a white ink for a inkjet printer. You may do a hack by replacing the black cartridge with a white cartridge in a printer dedicated to printing white on dark media. You can purchase empty cartridges and load your own, but this will void any warranty that you have.
  10. Have you tried limiting you color depth to 8 bits with maximum (8) dithering in Paint.Net?
  11. it is apparent that the IcoFX image has more anti-aliasing applied to the 64x64 32bit image than the PDN image.
  12. Apparently this problem has existed in Windows versions since 2015 and has not been resolved: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/photos-app-often-displays-sharp-images-as-somewhat/29b79fea-889b-48e4-8368-1a2d2922dd0c?page=12
  13. Did you uninstall GhostScript v9.27 before installing the older v9.26? They copy into the same gs folder and I think that the newer version is still trying to load the PDF into Paint.NET.
  14. Greetings, I just attempted to use your plugin on a 5000 x 5000 pixel canvas and got a 15 minute rendering time and horrible results with the extrusion. The plugin needs more development.
  15. It seems that in the viewer has been set to view 'List' rather than view 'Icon'. To set it back to view icon: While in Paint.NET click on File and select Open This opens the File Explorer from within Paint.NET On the upper right side of the screen you will a small icon for viewing images settings click on it a set it back to 'Large Icon' instead of 'List' I just heard the blip sound and see that Pixey has beaten me to the punch. 🙂
  16. I use the Drop Shadow tool everyday and it will only create a shadow on text or images on a transparent background. It has always worked this way!
  17. Okay then I will leave with this. I see it as slippery slope or Pandora's Box. I have left my editorial graphics off of this forum while I have freely expressed them elsewhere in cyberspace.
  18. @welshblue As one who has done digital political graphics editorials for years, should I enlist the skills and expertise of my fellow forum members in honing my craft in making political and/or racial memes? Especially when the query boils down to 'what is the best way to make a political figure's complexion look like a turd. I already feel that this forum is receiving to much spam these days. Is it your contention that they be allowed to soil the forum until they grow weary?
  19. BTW: I like your king of the poop heads edit!
  20. Greetings, 'Retouching' is done thru the skillful application of Paint.Net's various tools and plugins. I find that the Smudge plugin by pyrochild is the must useful tool for me when I do photo retouching: Smudge v2.2 04 Jul 2008 pyrochild Use custom brushes (*.png format) to smudge along the mouse path. Found in Pyrochild's Plugins see also: #7291 The built-in 'Clone Stamp' is good for copying and applying textures from an image into adjacent areas.
