  1. Its amazing how you incorporated so many stocks! I found the possum!!
  2. The lighting, and the textures amaze me! a beautiful work of art!
  3. I think all you need to do is, in the color wheel window choose one color as your primary color (by left clicking on the color) and choose the other color as your secondary color (by right clicking on the color). Then use the gradient tool and set it to (linear). then just click and drag across the screen. tip: if you want it perfectly straight, hold shift while moving.
  4. Again with the three way tie!? Congrats: Barbieq25-Really liked the gold work on this one! St1cki3-i loved that picture btw, just everything! Welshblue-Nice background! Sarkut-The skull and bones are soo cool! Julio-Your first competition! Nice job! (and good idea too) And everyone else that entered!
  5. The jewel is great! the spanners look real! I love the text! The background is dark and mysterious! Great picture!
  6. Thanks Julio! Im glad you like it! @barbieq: That is my favorite too. Its supposed to be a beginning, middle, end sorta thing. The last one is the finished product. Thank you! @welsh: Thanks, but i cant help but think the wave is ruining it... oh, well, I tied for first with it so i guess its good! I agree. I just cant make anything worthy of the 'Tutorials+ - Publishing ONLY!'. I might post what i have in here, it really just turned out to be how i did the abstract flower. Everything is soo different that there really isnt one over all method. The entire method changes every time!!! If any of you want to see it, just ask and i might post it in here (if that is allowed...). here is a possible outcome you can make with it. this is as close as i can get to something like the flower picture. (after i realized that a general tutorial would be impossible, i just made it for the flower picture): then with a little tweaking: and another one: added some colors: Here is one that I forgot: used alpha-displacement and added colors: Edit 10-28-10: I used Welshblue's great tutorial for this image: And I used Sarkut's also great tutorial for this image: And this was made using Welshblue's wood tutorial Edit 10-29-10: just a little manip of an album cover. I like to mess around with album covers when i am bored. I'm still tweaking my space scapes:
  7. I think this would be the easiest way to do it: Use the method which I explain here for selecting the sky. Cut the selected area from this layer then create a new layer with :AddNewLayer:, and move it down() below the 'mountains' layer. paste the sky in this layer. (dont forget to deselect after pasting {ctrl + D}). now, go to layers > import from file, and import the sun picture. Move this layer between the mountains layer and the sky layer (if it already isnt). I dont know if you want the sky part of the sun layer too or not, but if you only want the sun, then you can cut out the sun and move it where ever you want it. here is a tutorial on how to cut out an image. hope this helps. and welcome to the forums!
  8. I really like the sunset picture! awesome. It looks so calm. and i like that!
  9. Thanks barbieq, You probably can tell that i just downloaded the alpha-displacement plugin and was having some fun! Well i am trying to come up with a tutorial, and this was supposed to be the specific outcome, but i didnt like it enough, so its back to the drawing board with that: started with an apophysis render (which i did myself. I usually dont do start with these things (or even use them) but since i was lazy, i just used it. usually i just start from scratch in pdn. then: and lastly:
  10. Thanks! I'm glad you liked the picture. I spent quite a bit of time on it. I try to think of things that no one else will think of, and still have it fit with the guidelines and theme. Unfortunately, with round 4 of the PMC, I didnt spend near as long on it as the landscape picture. Thanks for stopping by! and, as usual, i forgot a picture: the sig version (which was my main goal in the first place):
  11. layers>import from file... I think that is the easiest way to do it. This might be helpful
  12. My Entry: http://i916.photobucket.com/albums/ad10/HeatStroke99/photomanipulations/3D_fast_N_furious_final_2.png?t=1287840549 Hidden Content: Stocks http://i974.photobucket.com/albums/ae223/DeadPossums/PhotoManip/3D_HDTV2.png http://www.seriouswheels.com/pics-def/Fast-And-Furious-Movie-Cars-Chevelle-Wheelie-1024x768.jpg http://182.48.18.107/file/9cbba6b3a24c0f4329e9514c75230a88.jpg http://screenshots.en.softonic.com/en/scrn/85000/85280/3_Broken_Aero_Vista_Black_01.jpg
  13. This will be the easiest battle you will ever win stone85.
  14. Nice sig! Ill enter with this: Mad Max ftw!
  15. Do you make those c4ds your self? Those new abstract sigs are nothing short of amazing!
  16. Cool, i like all of your works! The eye is great!
  17. Nice sig! I think it is one of your best works! [hide ]blah[/hide ] (without the spaces) Hidden Content: blah
  18. I'm glad it looks real! as for the sigs, your advise is always welcome! ill try to shrink the text. Tied for first with Sarkut and Possum Roadkill in the Photo manipulation competition #2! I tried to follow Chrisco's advise: random wood texture: So it's probably clear to you all by now that i really like Mad Max. What you may not know (yet) is that I also really like the fast and furious series. Put those together and you'll find my true passion: cars! Hell Drivers
  19. That would be great if you post it here! I think it would get a sticky in the first hour.
  20. You should not have to put that anywhere. I leave it in the extracted file. Its always good to save the plugins and text files that come in the zip file. my computer crashed with all my plugins, and i didnt save any of them. i had to re download every one of them.
  21. Congrats Sarkut and Possum Roadkill, and everyone else who entered! This was a close one, like barbieq25 said, wow.
  22. the fire within picture is great! but i really really like the fire is power picture! great work!
  23. @julio, yeah the second one is better in my opinion too, thanks man! @barbieq25: Thanks! it was a split second sort of thing, i was doing something completely different, and then the idea hit me! @cortez: I agree, and thank you! and i can honestly say that i forgot all about the abstract tut request. sorry! lifes been realy busy for me these past few weeks, all i really have time for is posting a few artworks that i forgot to earlier, vote on a few comps, comment on a few galleries, and help a few people out. Tutorials are not easy for me to write, i had my friend julio try out a tut i wrote for him on a planet and space scape picture. I guess it was a little confusing! but his attempt was actually pretty good!(you can see it on his blog). I will make an honest attempt to make an abstract tutorial, but it may take a while.
  24. I'm going to assume that all of that is in the same layer. What I would do is: in the color wheel window, choose the color you want, a grey for silver, or yellow for gold. or any other color you might want. then use the tool to fill the white area with the color. you might want to start using layers though. you can use the tool to select the white area, create a new layer with :AddNewLayer: and fill the selection with the paint bucket tool. layers allow you to separate different parts of an artwork so you can edit certain aspects easier, or so you can use the blending options. if what you meant by the silver and gold colors was that you wanted something that looked like chrome silver or gold, then use the paint.net search, there are lots of tutorials for that. hope this helps!
  25. If the plugin is in a pack, then download the zip file of the pack. once it is downloaded you can extract the files. Then you can choose which plugins to copy and paste into the effects folder. So yes, you download the pack, extract the files, and then choose which plugins to put into paint.net. hope this helps!
