  1. OK. Those aren't brushes, those are effect plugins. And they do belong in the Effects folder, not the Custom Brushes folder. If you have them installed in the Effects folder already, close and open Paint.NET. If they still don't show in the Effects menu or a sub-menu, make a full-size screenshot of your open Effects folder showing the contents and the full path in the address field. Post the direct link of the screenshot here. ============================================== http://www.take-a-screenshot.org/ http://imageshack.us/
  2. Create your numbered circles on a new (transparent) layer. Save that layer as a PNG file set to read-only. Any time you want to use it, import it into your new project: Layers > Import From File Make a Rectangle select around the number that you need, leaving transparency all around the object. Then, copy and paste into a new layer above your working background image. Non-finicky selection method. .
  3. Are you referring to CustomBrushesMini.dll? That's a plugin that allows the use of custom brushes in Paint.NET. Any brushes that go in the Custom Brushes folder, to be used by Smudge, need to be image files. Like .png preferably. ============================= What are the .dll file names, specifically?
  4. What is the format of the brushes? If they are .abr files they need to be extracted before they can be used. Post #62
  5. Information on unattended installation including msi package creation can be found here: http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/UnattendedInstallation.html There is no support for previous versions.
  6. Mike recommends using Tanel's Color to Alpha. I have found that the Grim Color Reaper plugin works well with your example image, also.
  7. Brushes don't go in the Effects folder, they go in the Custom Brushes folder. Typically: "C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Paint.NET User Files\Custom Brushes"
  8. Uninstall NET 4.0, then install NET 3.5 SP1. (The SP1 is important.)
  9. Bebas Nueu at 28 is very close. http://www.dafont.com/theme.php?cat=501&page=1 .
  10. The text can be edited as image only, so erase the text, and add new text however you want it.
  11. Go to the first post of this thread and click on Download from box.net. pyrochild.effects.REQUIRED.dll is in the plugin pack. .
  12. In GIMP, you can convert the .xcf files to .psd files. Install the Photoshop filetype plugin in Paint.NET. Then open the .psd files and save them as .pdn files.
  13. Layers > Import From File will bring another file into an existing open file. If you mean something other than that, additional explanation is needed.
  14. 404 Not Found Is it possible to have a re-direct put into effect? The forum auto-magically converts the upper case W to lower case. The link doesn't work in that form. There are other Help pages affected by this, also. http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/ToolsWindow.html http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/MainWindow.html http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/ColorsWindow.html http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/HistoryWindow.html .

  16. http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/514/cp01.png Make the selection in the size that you want, then position it using the Move Selection tool. .
  17. Try again, and save as PNG. JPEG won't preserve transparency. That's why you have the white in the middle. If you post that effort we can zero in on what needs improvement.
  18. The jpegs don't need to be converted. Remember to remove the check mark from the mask layer in the Layers window. The mask layer doesn't need to be visible to copy it into the Windows clipboard prior to running the Alpha Mask plugin.
