Are you referring to CustomBrushesMini.dll? That's a plugin that allows the use of custom brushes in Paint.NET. Any brushes that go in the Custom Brushes folder, to be used by Smudge, need to be image files. Like .png preferably. ============================= What are the .dll file names, specifically?

What is the format of the brushes? If they are .abr files they need to be extracted before they can be used. Post #62

Brushes don't go in the Effects folder, they go in the Custom Brushes folder. Typically: "C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Paint.NET User Files\Custom Brushes"

In GIMP, you can convert the .xcf files to .psd files. Install the Photoshop filetype plugin in Paint.NET. Then open the .psd files and save them as .pdn files.

Try again, and save as PNG. JPEG won't preserve transparency. That's why you have the white in the middle. If you post that effort we can zero in on what needs improvement.

The jpegs don't need to be converted. Remember to remove the check mark from the mask layer in the Layers window. The mask layer doesn't need to be visible to copy it into the Windows clipboard prior to running the Alpha Mask plugin.

Are you referring to PSFilterPdn.zip, or to a folder of Photoshop plugins that you have downloaded.

Perhaps Simon Brown's Printer+ plugin will work for you.
