  1. Lighting is definitely a must. Also, notice that the center is much lighter in color than the green part, while yours seems to be slightly darker. Seeds would be nice too, but you probably already know that. Looking great so far
  2. Or, for more versatility and feathering options, use the Color to Alpha plugin.
  3. Could you be a little more specific? There are many types of effects that give a "shiny" look. Perhaps you could post a picture of the kind of effect you want to achieve?
  4. Rick Brewster, the creator of Paint.NET, believes that updating the Windows version is a lot more productive than coding a Mac/Linux version of it. Mainly because it requires an entirely new source code. Your bet is using BootCamp and installing Paint.NET on your Windows partition.
  5. Something like this. I have no idea why they call it Colored Pencil, it looks absolutely NOTHING like a pencil sketch. Anyway, you may want to play with Brightness/Contrast in the Adjustments menu, and Motion Blur in Effects > Blurs.
  6. Do you have an example of the kind of outcome you're trying to achieve?
  7. Just use the Line/Curve tool to draw multiple straight lines. :LineCurveTool:
  8. Try using search next time. Searching for "color accent" brought me to, #1 on the list: this topic, and #2: to this. Edit: BB beat me.
  9. No cutting or selecting is needed whatsoever. Just add the image onto a new layer, and set the blend mode to "Screen." The black will become transparent and ligher areas will be more visible. Tip: You might want to go to Brightness/Contrast and turn the contrast slider up a little first, it makes the black, well, blacker.
  10. LFC, your entry looks....strangely familiar....hmmmmmmm....maybe it was....no, it couldn't have been.
  11. I think that's a pretty good idea, although you may want to consider everyone posting their original plugin requests in said thread. If you were to link to other threads, we would have to have some kind of "mini-moderator" just for this thread to go and hunt for all the threads that are plugin requests, and then cross them out when they've been created. Posting requests here would solve that problem, and maybe you could have an "index" on the first post.
  12. Gah! Needs a mini-moon, on top of the planet, in the bottom corner. That would make it perfect. But the smudging, lighting and texturing are ABSOLUTELY FREAKING AWESOME.
  13. Lengthen the highlights. They're really short right now. And what on earth happened to rule #23? Even BoltBait is participating.
  14. Certainly. Use the Rectangle Select Tool and select around the text you want to rotate. Change to the Move Selected Pixels tool (press "M") and Right-click/drag one of the corners. The selection should rotate from the center.
  15. Or, if you want just one color or color range, try Conditional Hue/Saturation. In the "Conditions" Section, select everything that's NOT your color. Then turn Saturation Adjustment all the way down.
  16. And I wanted to be the first Asian person. Oh well, you can't have everything. By the way, haven't seen you for a while, welcome back.
  17. Oma, have I ever told you how amazing you and your artwork are?
  18. Psst...post your stock. Unless, of course, it was 100% PDN. In which case, TEACH ME YOUR WAYS.
  19. Well, unless you want the entire photo one hue (Color Tint), there's no way to automatically color a picture.
  20. I think you're using the old version of Drop Shadow, I had that problem for a while as well. Is your Drop Shadow from this post? If not, go download it. If so, make sure you have the framework plugin installed along with the Drop Shadow.
  21. This. Tip: Scroll down a few posts to see what it can do.
  22. After you save to whatever file you want, you can press Ctrl + Z to undo the Flatten. Then, you have your layers back and can work with them again.
