  1. In Photoshop, when multiple layers are selected at once, the only thing that you can do is move, scale, crop, flip and select ( sans ). 95% of the time, when a user selects more than one layer, they will probably want to do one of these things. That would solve the "weird stuff" that could potentially arise. I'm not saying that it would be any easier to implement, just stating that such a function would be greatly helpful for work efficiency.
  2. I have a question: Sozo, what's the font you're using in your current sig? It looks very nice.
  3. If you post a link to the Photoshop tutorials you mention, maybe we could help you translate those into Paint.NET equivalents.
  4. Simply changing the file extension won't work; PDF and PNG are two completely different types of files. The best way to do it is to put the file through a file converter, such as Zamzar (which is what was recommended last time this question was asked).
  5. I agree with you for certain operations. Pasting in, IMO, should automatically create a new layer, as well as text. However, a new layer for every operation seems to be a little overkill, and would greatly decrease performance especially if you don't have that much RAM.
  6. Color changing is not supported within the fractal effect itself; however, you can render the fractal like normal, then go to Adjustments > Hue/Saturation and drag the "Hue" slider to get your desired color.
  7. This is not possible using only 1 image; you must slice your banner into four images. Replace link1, link2 and link3 with the repective URLs you want to link to, then replace the images with complete URLs of where the image is hosted. Set width and height of each image to what the actual dimensions are.
  8. I have that plugin installed. I just dont understand it. Here are two guides to Paint.NET masking, written by a mod here: Alpha Masking Overview Alpha Masking Walkthrough Hopefully these will help you understand how to use it better.
  9. Making someone thinner is usually a very image-specific process, so it would help us make more suggestions if you posted the photo in question.
  10. Use the Brush tool and put a few white dots around the places you want the glow to come from. Then run Zoom Blur, and fiddle with the placement and zoom amount until you are satisfied. If the glow is too faint, duplicate the layer and merge down until it is bright enough.
  11. Feather doesn't give the best results when compared to natural anti-aliasing. The best way to get smooth edges is to use Alpha Mask.
  12. You could run Outline Object on the image with a very soft setting (253+), then run Glow.
  13. You can use Image > Canvas Size to resize the canvas dimensions. if you leave the 9-button interface at the bottom at default, the image will crop to the exact center each time.
  14. Note that Paint.NET does not support "text objects", and text is rasterized the moment you finalize them. Therefore you cannot go back and re-edit it. An alternative to the Rotate/Zoom tool would be to select you text with Rectangle Select, then right-click and drag the corners of the text box.
  15. I can never, ever name my layers as detailed as that. Good job; although I believe the texture could have used some warping (Dents on extremely large/light settings, maybe?) to make it look a little more fabric-y.
  16. You can't...but gratitude is always better than reputation points.
  17. Paint.NET does not support this feature, but the GIMP does have a Slice tool that allows you to "slice" one single image and save each slice as a seperate file. Edit: after checking, I realize that GIMP does not have a straight-up Slice tool, but it does have 2 filters that do simliar things. They are explained here.
  18. This template comes in a .psd, but I believe there is a plugin that lets you open them in Paint.NET.
  19. If you posted the image that you want to edit, it would be very helpful.
  20. Most of them are located in the General Discussions & Questions section, and are stickied at the top of the page.
  21. Keep in mind Paint.NET is not a replacement for true 3D modeling software. If you want results that look highly realistic, I suggest you look into some 3D software (Blender, while being somewhat hard to learn, is a great, versatile, and free program that can accomplish your needs).
  22. Click File > New. Under Print Size, change the numbers to 11" and 17". You now have a canvas at the right size. You can now open each individual image, and for each one, select all ( Ctrl + A ), Copy ( Ctrl + C ), and paste ( Ctrl + V ) it into the 11x17 canvas. Hold Shift, then drag the corners of the selection until it is resized to your liking. Then, move the selection around to where you want it to fit, then when you are done, deselect ( Ctrl + D ). Do this for all 4 images, and you should have a nice photo montage. Note: if you want to print the image in nice quality, be sure to use 300 pixels per inch (go to Pixel Size and change the dimensions to 3300 pixels and 5100 pixels. )
  23. How large is the painting that you are trying to print, in pixels? If you want the print to measure 20 by 15 inches, you will want to make the size of your image at least 4000 by 3000 pixels for good quality. Remember, the smaller the size of the image (in pixels), the worse quality it is in print.
