  1. Do you mean you want to crop one pixel off of each side of the image? If so, go to Image > Canvas Size, lower both width and height by 2 pixels, and select the Middle position in the Anchor section.
  2. Fancy. I like the sort of ripple...drill-ish thing that you did. One suggestion about your PPT slides up there, if it's not too late: I suggest using solid, bright color for text. Right now, the grayish-pink makes it look kinda washed out and bland, which doesn't go well with the vibrant nature of the rest of the image. Just a thought.
  3. Very nice! I like how it gradually fades away. A few suggestions: [*:14x9bqwy]When creating the "picture frame", draw a normal rectangle on a new layer, then use the Rotate/Zoom (Ctrl + Shift + Z) to change its perspective, then use the Magic Wand tool to select outside the rectangle and delete parts of the image you don't want. This creates a perspective-accurate picture. Same thing with the white border. [*:14x9bqwy]To remove the blue-purple outline around you, use the Feather plugin at about 3/3 settings and with "True Feather" checked.
  4. Expiration was the first to pioneer/explain this trick. [*:31wqkk2e]Write the text on a new layer with one of the colors you want. [*:31wqkk2e]Duplicate the layer. [*:31wqkk2e]Use Hue/Saturation or Recolor to color the top layer to your other color. [*:31wqkk2e]Use a transparent gradient ( :AllColorChannels:  :AlphaChannel: ) and draw a gradient on the top layer as you would want it to appear. It's a little troublesome, but it gets rid of the aliasing problem without having to go through excessive feathering, which makes it looks over-blurry anyway.
  5. What he said. When you have more powerful tools, you become lazy... But Ai would be a LOT faster. And I would get better perspective with it as well.
  6. Kind of bland. Needs a few more effects, but a great start. This was NOT 100% PDN. The raw shape of the number was rendered in Ai, but everything else is PDN.
  7. Nice one. Reminds me of my Echo imprint design....cept yours is cooler.
  8. Hmmm...I'll wait a while, and if no mod makes one, then I guess I will.
  9. Wow, it's been what, two months? I haven't seen CMD around for a while. Is he still here? Does anyone have interest in this anymore? If you still do, the new topic for SOTW is Technology. Have fun with that.
  10. [*:2t5wwaxq]Put the two images on two seperate layers, and make sure that the background on the top one is transparent. [*:2t5wwaxq]Overlap the images slightly, where you want them to blend. [*:2t5wwaxq]Go to the Gradient tool and change :AllColorChannels: into :AlphaChannel:. Then, you can make the top image fade away slowly.
  11. Yeah, I usually end up dragging it off-screen. Simon, I believe, has a bugged keyboard. It's happened to me before. Either than, or he's had one too many cold ones...
  12. You don't need to highlight the text. When you change the font, Bold/Italics/Underline, font size etc., Paint.NET automatically changes the entire text box. Keep in mind, once you deselect text, you cannot go back to edit it anymore.
  13. Depth and shadows? But still, I like it a lot
  14. Hello, Zam, welcome to the forums! Regretfully, there is no specific section for photo enhancement on this forum. To the extent of my knowledge, there are very few tutorials on this topic. However, you said yourself that there are plenty of Photoshop tutorials that are relevant to your desired outcome. Paint.NET has many similar features to Photoshop, so if you follow those tutorials, but use Paint.NET instead, I truly believe you can come up with similar if not exact replicas. Even if a feature is not available in Paint.NET, ask around, we may be able to find a workaround for you.
  15. I'm slightly confused. If I were to redesign an iPod, would I still use all the functions of the iPod, such as Music/Videos/Party Shuffle etc, or would I create something entirely new?
  16. I has mad camouflage skills. Sadly, it's not 100% PDN. The hair was rendered in PS (the rest in PDN, though) and some of the burning/fading was as well.
  17. What you are trying to achieve, as far as I know, cannot be done with an effect/plugin in PDN. What are you specifically trying to do using this technique? Maybe we could help you find a way to do it without using your color mixing method.
  18. Ahhhh. Nice one, Oma.
