  1. Or, if you want more lighting options, you can try Shape 3D.
  2. Do you, by chance, have a tablet? When I installed my tablet driver software, it messed up the synchronization of my mouse with everything in PDN as well.
  3. I believe Rick has said some time ago that Paint.NET will never support vector-based file types...
  4. Using Contrast/Curves is a very good idea. May I suggest using Median instead to soften edges?
  5. Hrmmm. I think I have to be more direct with my clues. *looks down
  6. The reason I don't hang around tag forums anymore... :? making larger art on dA is enough for me.
  7. Please keep in mind that this is a family-friendly forum. Don't post anything that you wouldn't want your grandmother to see you with. And as for your question, you can get a softer, less jagged look by, after doing whatever you did to achieve your current result, running "Median" with a low Radius setting.
  8. Not to tread on his memory or anything, but he was kind of stubborn and self-centered... But you're right, he did make some pretty neat tags.
  9. Well, without reading the tutorial, I can tell you this: The Bevel/Emboss effect can be simulated by BoltBait's Bevel Selection plugin. Apply textures to things by creating the texture you want, then putting the texture on top of your object, in a new layer, then selecting the Overlay blending option. Contour is a bit harder.
  10. You would then have to re-wire Paint.NET itself. When you run an effect/plugin with a selection on, it alters everything inside the pixels, and none anywhere else. The selection doesn't move. So, if you ran Align Object with a selection, Paint.NET would take the entire image and process the information for it to be centered, but in actuality, only the pixels inside the selection would be changed. Sorry if I'm not clear.
  11. Unless you have near-superhuman mental capacity, you can't write a plugin that centers an image without transparency. How would the plugin know which pixels to center, and which ones not to? And even if it did, what would be filled into the pixels that your image moved from? Just paste whatever you want centered into a new layer, and run Align Object on that.
  12. Try BoltBait's Bevel plugin (search is your friend!).
  13. I remember seeing somewhere that the owner of the image explained that it was Smudge and Dents. Keep in mind, both these plugins are extremely versatile, so you may not get what you want simply by clicking a button or two.
  14. Personally speaking, I've never had any problems like yours when printing Paint.NET-made images. Can you post the original JPG/PNG images that you went to get printed, maybe even a photo of the printed outcome?
  15. No I didn't but I should clarify my statement, I'm sorry if you misunderstood. I got the front of the computer and laptop pre-rendered, rotated it and used Curves+, then filled in the outside. I don't see why you don't believe it, but I should note: The fronts of the hardware are pre-rendered. Ahhh. Now I get it. Sorry, misunderstood. Good one :o
  16. The floor of your sig is believable. The other objects? No. I'm sorry, but I don't see it happening. Didn't you say you got Blender a while back, or something, in one of the off-topic threads?
  17. I refuse to believe that PDN can render such detailed shadows, reflections and anti-aliasing. But hey, that's me. Upload that, er, tutorial, ASAP, I want to see how you achieved such amazing 3D graphics. New sig.
  18. I know that BoltBait has written a plugin called Strip Primary Color, but I can't seem to find it. Make sure to save your signature as a .PNG after stripping the white.
  19. Ctrl + Mouse Wheel magnifies in smaller intervals, but it's irregular and often gives weird shifts in pixels.
  20. Perhaps it's because the highlight is uniform entirely. Maybe if you made it thinner and disappear at the bottom...it looks sort of...soft beveled right now.
  21. A decent use of Polar Inversion. It's still too obvious, though; don't let BoltBait see it.
  22. Can you post a link to the original tutorial, so we can see all the images as well? That would greatly help in converting the tutorial. Thanks.
  23. Awesome work. Ironic, since we were talking about daffodils in school yesterday. Now put it in a field of grass along with a few others, drop in a blue, cloudy background... The praise is clear, but, ah, you might not want to do that; contrary to their appearance, daffodils do NOT smell very good.
  24. You can't, not directly, anyway. If you know what the font is you can use the Clone Stamp tool :CloneStamp: to patch over the original text, then type in the text again with the desired font.
