1. @kinAxis: Welcome to the forum. Please read through the Forum Rules. There you will find a rule regarding the size of posted images. The two images you posted are too large (I'll edit your post to link to them for you). Second: it is not considered good form to hijack another thread with your own requests. Please just create a new thread where your request can be the focus of attention. Thanks.
2. Glad to be of assistance bloodpnx. Enjoy your time here on the forum. I've been maintaining the Plugin Index for nearly three years now. The amount of time that's passed since I began has surprised me. To date this thread has had about 840 000 views and regularly the PDF version exceeds 3000 downloads per month. So I thought I'd give you the option of showing your support by adding a Donate Button. Donating is something you may choose to do or not. Rest assured that the Plugin Index will remain a free service here on the forum. Enjoy
3. Very old threads should be left to die in peace . This is one of the Forum Rules. If you wish to revive an old discussion, please just start a new thread. <closed> BTW: Nice pic! Could use just a little more anti-aliasing around the perimeter of the bright green orb.
4. Alt + (F, A) is another alternative. This gives you the File | Save As..., mouse click option and two keyboard shortcuts to choose from. There are many menu items. It would be impossible to supply Tool Bar icons for each.
5. Immediately under the post is a delete button. Alternatively, use the edit button to amend the text.
6. @odeho19: This section of the forum is reserved for the publishing of tutorials. That's why this particular section is cunningly named "Beginner Tutorials" Your question is better suited to the Paint.NET Discussion & Questions section, therefore...., <moved> In answer to your question - you need to anti-alias or feather the edges of Dennis. To do this you need him on his own layer. Cut out the bits that are overlapped by the foreground as zookey mentioned. Then try running this plugin to soften the edges: AA's assistant - found in this plugin pack: Dpy's Plugin Pack Here's a quick chop to give you an idea. Obviously more work is required around the bride's arm! At least Dennis is now in the right picture and nicely blended into the background.
7. April Update Four new effects this month, including a new filetype to play with: 2D-ImageFilter Library - Contains numerous algorithms used in various emulators (VirtualGB, Mame, DOSBox, SNES9x, ZSNES, etc…,) Alpha Blur v2 - Updated version of Alpha Blur. Enhanced performance & option to shift blur. Part of Tanel's Photo and Color Plugins EA FSH Filetype - Filetype. Loads and saves the Fsh format used by Electronic Arts games. Noisechoice - Add noise, with a range of choices including anti-aliasing to transparency. As usual: New entries in the Index appear between horizontal lines and are prefaced with the notation *New* In the pdf, new entries appear on a green background.
8. Thanks for the update zookey. Rep'd. @MsCarlaK: Nice job on the shadow! You made a very nice job of it.
9. @sharonharvey2: Your question is a good one, but it is not a tutorial. This section of the forum is reserved for the publishing of tutorials ( just like ventor1 mentioned). Tell you what, I'll move this to the Paint.NET Discussion & Questions section for you if you promise not to do it again. OK? <moved>
10. More info > Installing plugins: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/forum/36-how-to-install-pluginsgeneral-plugin-troubleshooting/ Oh and welcome to the forum!
11. In order to do this the easiest way you'll need to have the subject (the figurine) separated from the background (i.e. on different layers). This plugin: Shadow Effect creates a directional shadow from an object on a layer. So what's an object? An object is a group of pixels on an otherwise transparent layer. Easy. So if your figurine is on her own layer & the background is on a different layer you're already there . If you have a single layered image , you'll need to separate the figurine from the background first. Here's a tutorial that might help: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/13796-cutting-out-images/ To use the plugin mentioned, here's what I do: 1. Duplicate the layer containing the object (hint: :DuplicateLayer: ) 2. Select the lower of the two identical layers. 3. Run the plugin. Adjusting the sliders to position the shadow so it is optically pleasing.
12. Nitenurse is quite correct. You could have found this yourself by searching - you've been here long enough to know this url http://searchpaint.net/ <closed>
13. I'm astonished with your result! That banana looks edible Great job.
14. Thou must speak with Pyrochild, BoltBait or one of the other Admins - for they hath the POWER I don't know if we need any more competitions at the moment, but that's not my call. When you suggest it - make a very good case for it The other option is to use the sig quote as the theme for SOTW - PM thehowler & discuss.....
15. Paint.NET is a image editor that deals exclusively with pixel information. When you paste, you're pasting a collection of pixels and not text/character information. This is the reason that you cannot re-edit text when it has been pasted into a layer. You cannot even edit text created with Paint.NET's text tool once the text has been committed to the canvas. There is a workaround. Simon Brown created this plugin that lets you re-edit text on a layer: Editable Text
16. No, not the Plugin Forum - post in the thread that I linked you to. BoltBait's Stenography plugin thread. <closed>
17. Repost this in the thread related to BoltBait's stenography plugin: Here.
18. This plugin should help you export your image as a 1 bit b/w image. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/15317-
19. Your code: ] As Yellowman said, remove the bit that says "?action=view&current=". After that you simply needed to swap the last two tags. Like this: Result: What I do is copy and paste the Photobucket Thumbnail code directly into the text of my post, then manually remove the "?action...." bit. Perfect thumbnails every time!
20. I seem to recall Rick explaining that the Metadata tags weren't cast in concrete. Perhaps I have this wrong. What I am more certain about is that Paint.NET preserves metadata where possible:
21. There are many ways to skin a cat. Try Google or Bing + "TrustedInstaller.exe"
22. It sounds like you're doing the right things to remove the background, so I'm guessing it's an MSPaint issue. The question is: Why are you using MSPaint when you have this awesome image editor already open in front of you? Try this: Open both images in Paint.NET and perform the background removal. Then copy from one to an new layer in the second image. Transparency will be preserved.
23. A little light reading: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/12193-how-to-use-images-in-your-posts-signatures-and-avatars/
