  1. I think this is the only thing that might do the job: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/17516-sprite-animation-helper-v-089-updated-dec-12-2012/
  2. Thanks guys. Overall I am disappointed with the result - but loved the idea. I was too rushed and just plastered images onto the original. I would have liked more time to refine BoltBait's avatar as the Cheshire cat. The treatment I gave Aislin's avatar was shocking!
  3. As promised, my entry in the original size.
  4. A couple of very nice techniques Ella! Thanks for sharing them.
  5. Entering current my sig - the base image is Robert Duvall playing the title character in the movie THX1138 (I took the stock image from the film).
  6. Honored to be your first ebook. Truly If you're publishing electronically I can recommend Amazon. Their how-to guides are exhaustive and cover just about everything you need to know. Whangarei to Norway? That's quite a shift!
  7. The Issue: On making your selection, your selection is running up against an edge that is aliased. Very roughly this means that the edge has been lightly blurred to smooth the transition into the background or other image elements. Your selection is capturing most of the aliased edge - but importantly not all of the aliased pixels. When you delete the selection, these remaining pixels show up against your new background. The Fix: There are multiple fixes. The first it to use a higher tolerance when making the selection to try and capture more of the aliased pixels. Once the removal has been performed, try AA's Assistant plugin or BoltBait's Feather to smooth off the edges again. Both these plugins will remove the stray edge pixels, but need the group of pixels to have a transparent neighboring region to work. In other words the boundary must be opaque to tranparent. Then there is this plugin which should also clean up the image in much the same way: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/26533-stray-pixel-remover/ I hope you enjoy my book and learn a great deal from it! Feedback is always appreciated
  8. A well deserved win Sasha! Congratulations to all the entrants. I though the standard was particularly high for this competition. You guys rock! Many thanks DrewDale for taking the time to host these competitions for us.
  9. It's a fact of life that you lose definition as the number of pixels gets fewer If you can resize using whole pixel sampling you'll get better results. 50% = 1/2 size, so two pixels are blended to create one resultant pixel. 25% = 1/4 size, so four pixels are sampled for each resultant pixel. 12.5%= 1/8....,
  10. Impressive image! I like this a lot. Certainly looks like an exploding nebula....
  11. Nah, it's more likely you accidentally moved them there with a involuntary swish of the mouse. I do that all the time. I have to play detective to find some of my stuff I'm glad you got it fixed! Welcome to the forum.
  12. The default canvas in Paint.NET is 800 pixels wide by 600 high. The workaround is to create a template of the correct size and orientation and save this as a *.PDN file to a location you can find easily. Double-clicking the template should open it with Paint.NET. A good tip here is to rename the template immediately within Paint.NET (File > Save As...) so you don't accidentally overwrite the original. 13. Wait - you downloaded a plugin pack from somewhere else? That was ill-advised as you have found. The PDF version of the Plugin Index has the filename listed for each plugin dll. Use that information to confirm you have the correct dll(s) installed and remove the others.
  14. Don't you just love the detail Whois can make available?
  15. I'd just love to post his personal address somewhere prominent
  16. Of course Excellent to hear you've go it sorted. That particular combination is used very regularly - so I assumed it had to be your hardware or setup.
  17. TWAIN support is not a 'missing feature'. Rick made a design decision to use WIA (see here ).
  18. Thanks Seerose! Dang. Thanks null54 and apologies to Red Ochre for the omission. I'll flag FurBlur for inclusion in the next edition.
  19. October Update Five new plugins this month. Welcome to new authors metobi and doverdemon77 ColorExchange - @metobi. Exchange one color channel for another. ShadiSearch - @doverdemon77. Diagnose the Shade, Transparency and Saturation of an image or selection by recoloring using the Primary color. Stencil2Eye - @doverdemon77. Create a stencil (monotone) image based on the primary color. TR's DoodleMatic - @TechnoRobbo. Edge detection effect which turns artwork into a pencil type sketch. TR's Pixel Puller - @TechnoRobbo. Pull the image around to emphasize or de-emphasize perspective. Companion plugin to TR's Pixel Pusher.
  20. This thread is old - but the solution(s) might still work: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/17183-problem-with-installation-because-of-missing-file/ The last post indicates the Windows Clean Up Tool did the trick.
