  1. Open the background image Add a new layer. (Ctrl + Shift + N). Put yout text on this new layer. Select the text (usually Magic Wand + Shift key) Delete the selection from the background layer With the background layer active, apply the Alpha Blur plugin
  2. Ref Pixey's image above. When you've set ther Primary color to yellow, open the More tab in the Colors window and reduce the transparency of the yellow shade. Then render the clouds. That will make the brighter areas of the texture more transparent.
  3. Hi @Luka - welcome to the forum. Use this instead: Ghostscript is not required
  4. If you do want the neon effect, try this plugin: Neon Edges
  5. Use the magic wand to select the gray background. Adjust the hardness so that all of the background is selected. Invert the selection with Ctrl + I Press Delete on your keyboard (not Backspace)
  6. It's the rectangle selection tool. So you're always going to get a...rectangle! :) Have a look at the Splinemaster or Shapemaker plugins for ......... oh
  7. Have a look at the ShapeMaker plugin. It has an option to join elements.
  8. The plugin which automates this effect (known as the Pleasantville effect) is called Extract Color
  9. Are you sure a raster image editor is right for you? You're selecting on pixel, or a neighbor. Not something in-between.
  10. How about ShapeMaker? You can use it to make lines with hundreds of nodes.
  11. Your screenshot shows the plugin is not installed. Try looking it up in the Plugin Index. It will give you a link to where you can download the plugin if it is truly missing in action. The index also shows what the DLL/file is called. You might want to search for this on your PC to see if it is somewhere it shouldn't be. Good luck.
  12. To add the new image, are you using Layers > Import from file?
  13. Problem is @Assaf Wollman is trying to create circular text, but is using Creative Text Pro to try and achieve it. @Assaf Wollman - You're using the wrong plugin
  14. ^ Agreed! Ctrl + Shift + N = create new layer. This has to be one of my most used shortcuts. After a while it becomes a habit to create a new layer for every new element you're adding to the image.
  15. Try increasing the Tolerance of the magic wand a few percent. You can even do this after the selection is made (and still active).
  16. July Update No new plugins this month. I've updated a couple of listings and added a new filter = "INCOMPATIBLE"
  17. I think you're trying to open the *.dll files. Don't. Simply unzip them (if contained in a zipped container file), and move them to the correct location. See here: https://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/InstallPlugins.html
  18. I'm sure there is Agreed, and for little benefit. These 'lost' plugins are actually quite rare. In the Plugin Index, check the 3.5x compatibility checkbox. I'll update the compatibility to include 4.3x
  19. Try AlphaSpace if the background is a uniform white or black. Alternatively (if the background is non-uniform, and composed similar shades), Magic wand & the delete key. Remember to save the file in a format that supports transparency (like PNG). JPGs in particular often interpret transparency as a solid black or white.
  20. I'm hoping to see more adventures of Space Cat!!!
  21. Thanks @ReMake and @ardneh. I've flagged the Brush Factory entry as obsolete in the Index and added a new entry for Dynamic Draw. This means people can still find Brush Factory and will get pointed to Dynamic Draw.
  22. I immmediately thought of the Stitch plugin. It works best over non-uniform colors - so I added some noise prior to running the plugin.
  23. Hello @ragtimersue - welcome to the forum When the clone stamp tool is active, Ctrl + Click sets the area to be cloned. This will move as you move the cursor- so what you're really setting is the relationship between the cloned area and the cursor. More >> https://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/CloneStamp.html If you want to stamp the same area over and over, select the area, copy and paste repeatedly.
  24. At step 1 - did you flatten the image before saving?
