  1. A week ago. I did the Express upgrade then when complete I revisited the security settings to hide my location & other details. I'm not using OneDrive or Edge. Every other program I've tried seems to work flawlessly. The only minor inconvenience I encountered was the insistence that an Administrator didn't have Administrator access. The popup was irritating when trying to save ShapeMaker shapes. Now I run paint.net "as administrator" which solves the problem for now.
  2. Think about what you're asking here. You want to change the behavior of the Delete key so it doesn't actually delete? That's not going to happen. Instead, try this: 1. Make a selection. 2. Press the Backspace key. This will fill the selection with the Primary color. If you want to fill the area with the Secondary color, press Shift + Backspace.
  3. I've upgraded from 7 to 10. Absolutely no drama upgrading. I'm liking 10.
  4. I've not downloaded yet - can you explain how this is different to Convolution Effect?
  5. Once you have the ring selected, apply Adjustments > Brightness and Contrast to your liking. Then select the next ring and apply the same modification. The settings will persist in the B&C dialog - so all you need to do is accept the changes by clicking Ok.
  6. Try selecting the entire ring first. Once you have that use the ALT key modifier (Subtract mode) to remove the center of the first selection. REF: http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/ShapeSelectionTools.html under heading Subtract.
  7. To save the hassle of reinstalling, you could install them side by side. See http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/27227-paintnet-40-alpha-build-5034/page-6#entry399792
  8. The Delete key should erase the contents of a selection. The behavior you're describing is the action of the Backspace key. Do you have any keyboard mappings enabled or perhaps an unusual keyboard?
  9. I don't know of any recent changes to the forum software. That's not to say there hasn't been any
  10. That's the trouble with theoretical plugin authors - you get theoretical plugins!
  11. The online documentation provides translation via Bing. I chose that believing it to be superior to Google translation. Oh and because Klingon is an option (everyone should really try that once). Have you tried any other translators?
  12. How odd. Paint.net should default to black and white as the Primary and Secondary colors respectively. I just tried modifying the colors and closing - paint.net reopened with the default B & W. Also tried installing a custom palette - again paint.net defaults to B & W. Can you post a screenshot of paint.net showing the Colors window? Are you opening an image or a blank canvas? What version of paint.net are you using?
  13. I suspect you may have a badly formatted Shape in the \Shapes\ folder. Added any new ones recently?
  14. Settings > Tools tab has these default options for all the tools. Ref http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/SettingsDialog.html You can set the size of a rectangular selection in the Tool Bar when the rectangle tool is active. See http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/Toolbar.htmlunder the heading Selection Tools
  15. Apple? http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/32128-eers-miscellaneous-shapes/
  16. Thanks Red. It was a good month for plugins wasn't it?
  17. Thread is six years old. We've had several updates to both paint.net and CodeLab in that time. I'm going to lock this because reviving long dead discussions is not helpful. Please just start a new thread if you wish to revisit a topic. Thanks. <locked>
