  1. Ooops, I´ve been in the wrong layer Thx. Finally it´s worked
  2. Ok, using ALT I can mask the rings. But if I want to lighten in up, then no reaction is being shown. What am I still doing wrong?
  3. Hi Pixey, unfortunately no. It seems my English is not skilled enough. I don´t understand the instructions given in that thread. Normally it should work in the reduction mode. Is there any online tutorial on this problem?
  4. The foto below is mounted in PDN by using a few layers. I want to light up the rings on the left by using the elipse tool and their combination: An inner circle for the inside edge (holding the ctrl-key) and another one for the outside edge using the subtraction mode. After lifting the finger from left mouse key the masking disappears. So there is no way masking the rings properly. What can I do?
  5. No, I have heard it on some youtube tutorials. Having worked for a translation agency I know that online translators provide trash. They only translate word by word and doesn´t know about (German) grammar. If a word has several synonyms having a different meaning in German, then these false terms are used. If some words are unknown, in this case the original English terms are used. So that is totally unhelpful.
  6. Thx for the link and the info. I´m working 2 weeks using Paint.net. The problem is, there is no helpful German translation of the manual available, just a typical online translatetd jumble version ... So this forum is essential.
  7. I have some improvement suggestions on Paint.Net. Save properties Some properties seem to get lost when closing the programm. Next time I open it, brush and eraser tool are selected on just 2 pixels. Continueing the next day on the same picture, the zoom size is gone, too, as well as the last layer I have worked on and the color settings. An option would be helpful to continue where I´ve stopped the day before without any changes. Masking tools Using the rectangle masking tool to delete parts is quite uncomfortable if it´s used one by another. It always have needs to be drawn anew. It would be better to get last mask again e. g. by clicking the right mouse button or in connection with a keyboard key. This would be helpful for any masking tool. That´s it for the moment. What do other users think about this suggestions?
  8. @ racerx It´s not the fact to have a lot of work, I need a general "how to" to get a solution to start with. Thank you for this input. Here is an interesting example: How would you do this in paint.net? Thx in advance.
  9. I just want to let you know that I´ve tried this plugin. Now it took me 20 to 25 minutes to be finshed So once again a big THANK YOU
  10. In the near future I´ll be working on photo mounting selecting women from a background onto another, such as these examples: http://www.lisa-freundeskreis.de/files/u72/BIL_Frisur_halblang_8.jpg http://lasthairstyles.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Kurze-Frisuren-f%C3%BCr-lockiges-Haar.jpg http://www.salon-feder.de/biosthetik-coiffeur/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/salon_feder_extra_langes_haar.jpg The photos will have an original background in natural environments, so not like the 2nd and 3rd example. On Youtube I only find many videos for Gimp and Photoshop but not on Paint.net. Is there any solution planned or a plugin available? Thanks in advance!
  11. Thanks for the link and the warm welcome. The plugin seems to be the right tool. I´ll chekck it tomorrow and will report if it works. Regarding the example images I have to say sorry, it´s not possible due to the company rules. But if the plugin works, then I will ask if I could make demo tutorial (in German language) for those who will continue this project when some changes or a new version will come.
  12. As a trainee I am currently working on a project to create a new packaging rules guide. It has lots of photos illustrating the packaging process. My PC doesn´t have any adequate grahpics software installed, so I´ve installed Paint.net. The problem is to extract a bigger number of objects what takes a lot of time. The extracts need to be precisely. For 1 photo I need about 1 to 1.5 hours by using the Lasso and Magic Wand function. It would go very much faster if the Lasso would be magnetic like in many other photo software. Is there any option to get the extracting process done faster? Thanks in advance.
