  1. I hope this doesn't sound brash in the light of your gratitude, I thought you should know that we do have an introductory topic for new members if you'd like to post there beyond the thanks you're giving here: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=21822 Also, you really need to read the Rules before you post again; your title break Rule #6: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3446

  3. Unless Ed deems otherwise, and without 'hacking' the DLL, you can't. Sorry. Although, you should consider keeping all the other effects from Ed, simply because they are awesome. Also, beside the point of awesomeness, you never know when you might need another effect that he just so happen to have created.

  5. Could you tell us which one, please? Usually, errors such like this one are caused by out-of-date plugins, so do make sure you have the most recent version of the plugin that's causing the crash.

  7. Greetings Hugo. To better help you, I'm going to fire a few questions at you. Please don't think I'm being rude. Have you unzipped the DLLs? Are the ZIPs unblocked? Have you restarted Paint.NET since installation? Are there supposed to be additional DLLs installed as well, such as pyrochild's effects.common.dll or Ed Harvey's edfects.common.dll? Are they FileType plugins? Are you looking in the Adjustments menu, as several plugins make their appearance there? Have you looked in all of the submenus (Render, Blur, etc.)? I hope something above will help you out. N.B. Courtesy goes to david.atwell for the latter three questions.

  9. Killer Rob, you should brush up on the Rules where you'll read that [rule=6]topic titles must be descriptive[/rule]. This in order for both the right user to see your problem and help more efficiently, and more importantly, for a clean and organised Forum; imagine if the Forum was littered with 'Question!' and 'request!!!!', searching would become difficult to say the least. You have until after your next visit before I will have to lock your topic.

  11. Two things of note, Milosh: 1) you should read the Rules, especially [rule=11]Rule #11[/url]. It's been over three months now, you could have searched for previous replies or started a new topic. 2) read my first post, I list two tutorials to achieve this effect. On the grounds of necroposting alone: topic locked

  13. Hello marcink. It's been a few days since you posted this, it could be because we can't visualise what you mean exactly. Could you provide a screenshot of the results from trying to save, please? Also, are you able to save on your main monitor? Many thanks.

  15. If you don't have any videos, or moving them doesn't solve it, try saving in a location other than the Desktop. I've had a few problems before (in Paint.NET and other applications) when trying to save, or some other action on the Desktop; saving in Documents rid those problems from me.

  17. Hey josh_kosters. It's always good to ask the community first about new competitions, to see whether it will sink or swim. We are beginning to become bogged-down with competitions left, right and centre. (You'll see five in the General Discussion area alone, before counting in the Overflow.) We must remember the primary purpose of the Forum, to help and support. I applaud your enthusiasm, but I will be locking this simply because of the amount of the currently active contests on the go already. In fact, some of those aren't getting nearly enough attention or have recently been revived from their own hiatuses. Another one will not help. Next time, can we ask first, please? It would better help both yourself and us. Many thanks .

  19. David doesn't need to do anything, as Photobucket, the host Rawkgodpegasus is using, gives the option for clickable thumbnails, therefore removing the need to manually resize either at Rawkgodpegasus' end or at ours/David's.That was a hint for your next visit, Rawkgodpegasus, by the way
  20. Paint.NET is mildly similar to Photoshop, in that it shares a few tools and they are both graphic editors. However, there are a vast differences, a list of which is best for another time. As for your backgrounding needs, KJslove1994 is correct. In the Tutorials section you will find many that instruct in the creation of 'abstract' designs, and looking from your example images, this might be what you're looking to do. Don't forget that you can just as easily experiment with Paint.NET, trying all the effects in combinations or standalone, seeing how far you can push their potential to your needs - to paraphrase a skilled user. Once you have your background sorted as you like, KJslove1994's advice come into play. There is a tutorial that gives step-by-step instruction towards 'cutting' an object or person out of a picture for placement elsewhere, 'blending' of sorts. This is what you'll want to look to do for your person/s. It goes by the name of 'Cutting Out Images the Easy Way', and you can find that in the Tutorials section as well. Furthermore, particularly for the first composite, the 'Comaro' tutorial will teach you phasing one picture into another, also blending of sorts. I would recommend the slightly longer process of alpha masking (plugin | tutorial). You follow the same steps as the above tutorial except you create a mask at the end of it and use the associated plugin. Depending how well you create your mask, you can produce some professional-looking cut-outs; an absolute winner with some users. This post shows a quick example of alpha masking: viewtopic.php?p=238352#p238352 Does some of this help you?
  21. Clearly your week of rest has made you lapse with the Rules. Do change your title otherwise I will have to lock your topic. Many thanks DarkMie .
  22. Additionally, perhaps upping the contrast slightly will better simulate the exampled effect after desaturation (Adjustments > Brightness / Contrast, around 10-15 dependant on the image).
  23. Hello there, DMShaw. Give this a try, it's worked for other people:
  24. This isn't a Paint.NET issue per se, rather a Win 2003 setting. Have you searched with Google (or other search engine) for the answer or tried the Win 2003 Support Centre (the first option seems best, Windows Server 2003 Family Support Center)?
  25. The section for money is a monetary donation towards the upkeep of CodeLab. BoltBait has to consider expenses when he develops it, however what those expenses are, are at the discretion of BoltBait. You do not need to pay for it, only if you want to. I am not sure about the code number you speak of, though. It could be part of the process of donation.
