  1. Have a read at this: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2023 If you have any problems with installation, post in that topic so someone can help you as quickly as possible. Glad it's all working out for you. Good luck!
  2. Hello charlybrwn. Ah, you're into phone themes, are you? Very good. You have two options available to you for this: [*:ypzb700m]the Rounded Rectangle shapes tool ( ) with a variety of fill/outline styles (found along the top-left when the tool is active ( :ShapeOutline: , :ShapeInterior: , :ShapeBoth: )) - but this does have it's limitations; or [*:ypzb700m]the Rounded Corners plugin, which allows for corner radius to be set as well as corner fill. For this, you have another two options to choose from, in the form of file formats. When you come to save (File > Save (As)), either choose PNG or GIF. PNG is completely lossless - meaning you will not loose any colour information nor quality - and it can handle the image's alpha values (transparency), however this can lead to a bloated file size. For small icons of this nature, which might not contain a great many number of colours, GIF would be better suited as not only does it support alpha data, but also a small palette as well, thus conserving file size. Although, the transparency is not as forgiving as PNG - it either is or is not transparent, leading to jagged edges. Sometimes you can get away with PNG's file size, or see it a worthy sacrifice against GIF's transparency abilities. Either way, the choice is yours. I hope something of this helps.
  3. Greetings payneshouse. Simon is correct, this is the Forum for Paint.NET, not Serif PhotoPlus 6.0. The two packages you speak of are not affiliated with each other in any way. If you require help with the registration of Serif products, then try out their support page at: http://www.serif.com/support/ If you are having problems with registering Paint.NET, then there is no need to - Paint.NET does not require anything of the sort. Sorry that you have landed in the wrong place .
  4. You should read this for why I'm locking your topic: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=23939 . It's best to keep all plugin-related matter with the plugin itself, just so it's easier to point people to troubleshooting. It would be very handy for you to re-post in the Wet Floor topic: MadJik's or BoltBait's.
  5. Greetings evam117. Try this topic, it gives a few useful tips on curving text: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=24984 If it doesn't help that much, have a search around the Forums for the other, numerous topics on the matter. (Forum search or the Google Custom search engine.) Hope this helps you.
  6. There is no polygon selection tool, as plugin or otherwise, however there is a shapes tool, as linked to by LFC4EVER. Do bear in mind that polygon selection is a popularly requested feature, so you can expect it sometime in the future.
  7. This has been asked before, many times, and aside from the tutorials on the Internet (like Blooper's direction), there are a few topics here on the Forums: http://tinyurl.com/57vqoh
  8. Greetings Vidar. Try Curtis' Selective Palette plugin, where you can limit the palette of the image to a user-defined set of colours: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=22521 As you have figured out, Paint.NET doesn't have an indexed colour mode, and the nearest you will get is when saving in the PNG, GIF or BMP file formats is to opt for the 8-bit depth (GIF has no option but 8-bit, with a maximum palette of 256 colours). Whilst working, without saving, the above plugin is as close as you will get, plugin-wise that is. Hope this helps.
  9. YesCould you put this in your first post then, as well as quick instructions on installation (if irregular to other plugins) and usage. Just to remove chance of repeated questions plaguing your topic. Many thanks, Simon .
  10. Greetings Datruel3gend. To better help you, I'm going to fire a few questions at you. Please don't think I'm being rude. Have you unzipped the DLLs? Are the ZIPs unblocked? Have you restarted Paint.NET since installation? Are there supposed to be additional DLLs installed as well, such as pyrochild's effects.common.dll or Ed Harvey's edfects.common.dll? I hope something above will help you out.
  11. Taking over our job . boopster, if you haven't changed your title by your next visit, I will have to lock your topic. Moved to Troubleshooting & Bug Reports That is just a visual cue to the zoom level of your image. If you were to select 100% zoom, you'll notice the title bar will mimic this change. Your image will quite possibly be too big to complete the effect, and your lack of memory (RAM) is the cause of this. To remedy, work on a smaller image; run the effect on the one layer as its own image and copy it across as a separate element; or upgrade your memory - RAM is dirt cheap these days.
  12. Give this a shot: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=26974 Don't forget to have a browse around the Tutorials section to see if there's something there for you.
  13. You can find the Help files, to supplement the tutorials Down linked to, here: http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/en/index.html
  14. Perfect answer. If you have any more questions, Datruel3gend, post in the following topic designed just for this - it was at the top of the Plugins board when you went to download the plugin: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2023 Topic locked
  15. Greetings. When you browse the Rules, you'll read that topic titles must be descriptive. This in order for both the right user to see your problem and help more efficiently, and more importantly, for a clean and organised Forum; imagine if the Forum was littered with 'Newb needs help!' and 'request!!!!', searching would become difficult to say the least. Because of this, I'm going to lock your topic. This doesn't stop you from posting again, in fact, we'd be more than happy to extend the hand of help when you need it. Before I do, take heed of Down's advice: There is an excellent tutorial for this that is easy to pick up and use for many tasks.Topic locked
  16. Okay then, try for a fresh install of Paint.NET*, and failing that, the .NET Framework(s). See if that sets you right. If not, then I apologise as I cannot offer anything further. Somebody else might have a suggestion either at this stage or when all else has failed. *don't worry about your plugins if you have any, they are retained as long as you do not delete the Paint.NET program folder after uninstallation.
  17. Greetings kaizer_t. You should have noticed that you're posting in a section titled 'Tutorials - Publishing Only'. If you have an ordinary question to ask, the General Discussion & Questions section is the place to post. I highly advise you review the Rules before you post again, just so you're not caught off-guard again. Moved to General Discussion & Questions
  18. The usage was something outlined by David in the introductory topic. The mentioned tutorials that utilise the [Hide] tags are indeed teetering on the unnecessary but is not drastically crossing anything. The tags are something that should be used sparingly and will clearly now be kept in check as and when they're used. We don't wish for another debacle like the original
  19. Have you updated the Wacom drivers or installed the Wacom software? It's what I did for my Volito2 tablet, Vista drivers aside. At the time of writing, for me Wacom's website is experiencing some technical difficulties, so you might need to hang fire for a while.
  20. In conjunction with the Layer Saver application, by I Like Pi, that could be a suitable workaround. You would have to remane the layers yourself, though.
  21. Certainly. If you have a look at this support article, you will be able to check whether your account has permission to modify particular files and folders: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308419#4 I understand from your crash log that you are running Windows Vista. This article speaks for XP users, but the operation is interoperable with Vista.
  22. Hello FaeJInx. Two things I wish to bring to your attention: 1) you should have noticed that you're posting in a section titled 'Tutorials - Publishing Only'. If you have an ordinary question to ask, the General Discussion & Questions section is the place to post. Alternatively, one of the image umbrellas in the Pictorium if thr category fits the request (again, do not create a new topic). 2) This is family-friendly forum. We have members as young as 10 years old frequenting this forum. The example images you have posted are not appropriate for their youthful eyes, and this is not exclusive to the younger member neither. A digesting of the Rules would have highlighted this to you (in this case, [rule=12]Rule #12[/rule]) You will have to find alternate images to example with. Many thanks. I highly suggest you review the Rules before you post again, just so you're not caught unaware: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3446 Topic moved to General Discussion & Questions Images removed
  23. Greetings. You should also revise the Rules as well, particularly [rule=6]Rule #6[/rule]. You'll read that topic titles must be descriptive. This in order for both the right user to see your problem and help more efficiently, and more importantly, for a clean and organised Forum; imagine if the Forum was littered with 'Question!' and 'request!!!!', searching would become difficult to say the least. Because of this, I'm going to lock your topic. This doesn't stop you from posting again, in fact, we'd be more than happy to extend the hand of help when you need it. Topic locked
  24. Greetings once again, johnathanamber. If you were to create a new layer above the bottom one (as new layers are always created above the currently selected), you will only have to move down once.As for automatically alphabetising, I personally cannot speak for this. Does this help somewhat?
