  1. Max tolerance gives a frosted glass effect. Really fun effect.
  2. Why not, if that is exactly what is being done? It would even avoid confusion, if the user is not familiar with the mysteries of layers. Especially if there is an option to save in layered format like PDN. I think it is a good text. Let us keep it simple and self explaining.
  3. After using the new line ends for some time, i have a suggestion. When I click the line end icon, it cycles through the deferent arrows. Is it possible to make it cycle in reverse order on right click? A sort of forward / backward.
  4. I would like this too. But if there is too many deferent line ends, it would take to long cycling through them all.
  5. I think, what you want, can be done by holding down space while doing click and drag.
  6. Nice new feature. The round line ends looks interesting. Thanks Rick.
  7. You are right to be suspicious about things you put on your computer. But if someone put something the least dangerous in a plugin this forum will react quickly and strongly. Remember the code has to bee public too. It is open for all to see. You only have to worry if you get paint.NET or plugins from other websites then this.
  8. You can select some default start up values Also the tool. Look half way down this page. http://www.getpaint.net/doc/3.05/en/Toolbar.html
  9. Hmm. A check box in the Layer Properties window, so you can lock a layer, and can’t edit it by accident might bee nice.
  10. There is not any special feature for this at the moment. Best advice is here, I guess. http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewt ... light=text I don’t know if there will ever bee an easier way. It has been disused briefly.
  11. An on-line version has the advantage of always being up to date. I go for the on-line version.
  12. If you really, really want your own copy. There are programs around that can download and save a copy of an entire website. It must be possible to make such a program download, and save a copy of the help file. http://www.httrack.com/ But be careful. If used wrong, this program will try to fill your hard drive with the entire internet. (Why I seldom use it.) And you will sooner or later have an outdated version of the help files on your computer.
  13. Upload it to http://www.imageshack.us. Then they give you the code to copy/paste in to your post. If you intend to post regally it is advisable to create an account
  14. Save the PDN file just before you flatten it. Then after you flatten it, you save it as some other format. Say PNG. That will leave the PDN file intact. If you want history, you must manually save the PDN file as #1, #2; and so on. I don’t think saving the entire history with the PDN file is possible, the way paint.NET works.
  15. I think what he means, is a brush that starts at, say 10 pixels with, and end at say 3. Like a sort of arrow. A quite good idea. But, i guess, a part of the ongoing which for brushes in paint.NET. So, wait and see. But don’t hold your breath.
  16. The lines are a problem. I dont see paint.NET doing those in exactly the same way. If someone knows a trick, I would love to hear it. The deferent colure may bee made something like this. Make your line drawing. Copy that layer, and make invisible. Then apply the base colure to the entire face in the original layer. Then make a new layer on top of your drawing. Draw black where you want shadows. Play with the opacity and blend mode. Repeat as much you want, new layer, black, adjust opacity. (Use white for highlight.) When you are done, you move the hidden layer up on top, and unhide it. That way your drawing reaper. That is my best shot.
  17. Tip: Before you start drawing on the new layer; set the opacity of the lower some down. ~ 150 or something. Or draw with a deferent colure. Drawing a black line in a transparent layer, on top of a black/with drawing is bad karma. Believe me. Ahh i got you, but how do i get rid of the old layer? And how come the eraser doesnt totally erase, like its all checkered. Yes i know, noob alert Make a new layer. Move down under the “godâ€
  18. Aatwo wrote a tutorial. But unfortunately all of the pictures were lost. http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=2804
  19. Something likes this. http://www.my-volito.com/uk/volito/prod ... rview.html Not advertising. I don’t own one myself, just what I could find in a hurry.
  20. Did you do that using a mouse? It almost looks like it. If you did, that is your first problem. Drawing freehand with a mouse is almost impossible. A digitizer is better. Ore, hand draw it on a paper, and use a scanner. Then you can make a new layer on top of your drawing. And then draw it with a mouse using your hand drawing as a guide. That can actually work, if you use the curve tool.
  21. Go to: http://www.paint.net they properly know. Sorry, I just couldn’t resist. I would like brushes to. Something like the once in ArtRage. But that is properly a huge amount of code.
  22. Actually; very useful whenever someone wants to post an answer to question in a forum. Q:How do I do this???? A:Press that button. And post the symbol. I have earlier had to post screen caps to explain myself in other forums.
  23. Thanks. Those two plugin looks really interesting. I just bought a scanner, so they might come in very handy.
  24. I guess it is to prevent spammers/hackers from flooding the server with search requests. Many forums are that way.
  25. How many effects pluck in do you have? I noticed it dose that if there is not room for them all.
