Strange. I have another, a bit opposite, problem. If I fill a part of a drawing with a colour, I can’t later fill it with a transparent. (Make the layer under it visible) I haven’t figured it out yet. Not a big deal, but now you mentioned it.

That is nice. Better then the first I did. Here is something I do, if it can help you: Make the canvas and drawing tree times as big as you want the final pix to bee. That way you can easily zoom in and out when you do the details. When you are done, you resize it to the size you want. That way you also hide some of the small errors.

Haw about making something from scratch? I have been using paint.NET to make drawings. More or les copying from TV screen dumps. Some people do the same in some of the big “pay forâ€

Now, that is really great work. I recognize a couple of things from the tutorial section. And maybe, there is some inspiration. Thanks for posting it.

About the saved as .pdn history .
Leif replied to Tubular Tos's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
An easy way to have a sort of history, is to save your PDN file now and then, with an increasing number after the file name. That way you get a series of PDN files representing the history of your work. You can always import an old layer from an old file if you want to. I find that technique useful some times. -

Yes, the flowers are there, but they need some work on the coloring. The face however is really an impressive good work. It will be great if you can tell a bit about how you do this. -

OK Back on topic. A couple of green dots on blank pix. Heavy use of twist distortion, a bit of noise and zoom blur. And you got a science fiction wormhole. Stronger noise and zoom blur and you have something rather dramatic. And to top it of, Lisa Simpson with a dramatic shadow. Sorry about the deferent file types, but it was necessary to suit ImageShack -
Thanks for the tip. I didn’t notice that effect before. So i learned something to. Might come in handy some day. Anti-aliasing has been giving me some troubles.

Suggestion For www.getpaint.net
Leif replied to Picc84's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
I like the idea. Make it on a special page or use thumbnails, to prevent download time problems. Maybe not, pix of the week. But just; “best of the forum contributions.†-
lol That is what you get for trusting the spellchecker.

The only reason to use an old version, is if some features are removed in newer versions. Witch I hope will never happen.

HOW TO INSTALL PLUGINS/General Plugin Troubleshooting Thread
Leif replied to RaveN's topic in Plugins - Publishing ONLY!
And where would we find the 'readme' file? I have looked all over and can't find it. Maybe I need new glasses. 8) My understanding is, 'readme' files come in notepad. I have no notepad files in my 'paint.net' program files. If you download a plugin in a zip file, the readme file is normally in the there together with the dll file. But not all plugin have them. -

Paint.NET v2.72 is now available
Leif replied to Rick Brewster's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Downloaded it. Installed it. Tried the new blur. Great result. Thanks Rick. -
It says he hasn’t translated the license agreement but they are generous. And that you may: use, copy, change and distribute the program, IF ONLY: there is a copy of the license agreement attached. Witch goes to show that I did manage to install the files. Nice work piper.

Huh, nice. And scary. I like the face in the window. Sort of, the detail that gives it life. -

Paint.NET v2.70 now available
Leif replied to Rick Brewster's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
The color pallet is really a feature I have missed. Glad to se it is coming in the next version. May I ask where the tolerance bar went? I am at the moment trying to learn how to use it. I find it quite useful sometimes. But it is at the moment small, and difficult to set precisely. Great program. Thanks for making it; and making it free. -

I made a screen capture from TV. Then I work from that. Many Simpsons fans do it. Another thing I hope to do, by joining this forum, is getting some inspiration to do more then just copying from screen captures. -

Hello. I am new here. I was unable to find a treed for new members to introduce themselves, so I will do it here. I have been using paint.NET for some months now to make drawings. I decided to join this forum to learn some more. And, well, here is one of my creations:
