  1. Have you tried this plugin? https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/28520-print-it-tools-effect/ It has many options although I'm not sure if Filename is one of them.
  2. Paint.NET's maximum color depth is 32bpp (8 bits for Red, 8 for Green, 8 for Blue, and 8 for Alpha). If you need a greater color depth, I would recommend Photoshop.
  3. When Paint.NET crashes, it produces a "crash log"... please post it here.
  4. This is just a temporary solution I coded up for the OP of this thread to see if it is what he's looking for. I do this type of thing often. If the plugin is useful, I will either add it to my plugin pack or more likely simply add this algorithm to my existing Effects > Stylize > F-S Dithering plugin.
  5. That's good to hear. It was probably a Windows update or something that needed to reboot.
  6. Try this plugin: ThreeColorDithering.zip See if that is what you're looking for... Personally, I like the picture with higher contrast. To better simulate the effect you're going for, I suggest reducing the contrast and adjusting the brightness to taste.
  7. In my mind, this is even easier in Paint.NET: Use a selection tool: to select the part you want to keep. Press the crop button: Done! HOWEVER, if you want it to feel like MSPAINT, do it this way: Press Ctrl-A to select the entire canvas. Use the move selection tool: to adjust the size of the selection just like you would in MSPAINT. Press the crop button: to finalize the size of your canvas.
  8. You shouldn't need Old Feather anymore. Have you given my new Feather a chance? I explained in the plugin pack thread how it has been improved for fixing cutouts.
  9. I think there is a plugin called Polar to Rect. Check the plugin forum. EDIT: Sorry, the plugin is no longer working... https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/8677-illnab1024s-plugins-v11/ Try this one: https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/9364-polar-transformations-plugin-ymd100718/
  10. Yes, instead of using Red ochre's Object Bevel, you should use the object bevel from my plugin pack. Also, to make chrome text automatically, why not try my Creative Text Pro plugin: https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/115953-creative-text-pro-v11-by-boltbait-and-welshblue-updated-february-16-2020/
  11. Are you looking at an image at 100% zoom level? (That is, where one pixel on the screen is equal in size to one pixel in the image.)
  12. Paint.NET is a raster graphic editor. What you're looking for is a vector graphic editor. Try InkScape.
  13. BoltBait's Skew Plugin v1.0 Once installed, find Skew Horizontal and Skew Vertical in the Effects > Distort menu: Skew Vertical pretty much looks the same. Download: Until I add this to my latest plugin pack, you can download it here... Skew.zip To install this plugin, download skew.zip to your desktop, unzip all files to your desktop, and run the Install_Skew.bat file to install the Skew.dll file to your Paint.NET Effects directory. Source Code: Enjoy. 😎
  14. That is outside the scope of CodeLab and therefore outside the scope of my tutorials. Sorry. But, I'm glad I could provide a workaround.
  15. Try this: Duplicate the layer you want to paint noise on. On the bottom layer of those two, use the Effects > Noise > Add Noise effect. On the top layer, "paint" using the eraser tool. When done "painting" merge the layer down.
  16. Instead of Ctrl-V to paste your second copy on the same layer, use Ctrl-Shift-V to paste your image to it's own layer. Once you align it the way you want, press Ctrl-M to merge your layer down into a single layer. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
  17. I fixed it by attaching the dll directly to the first post instead of having a link.
  18. English only, please. Try this tutorial: https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/13796-cutting-out-images/
  19. Without background: With black background:
  20. The feather plugin is designed to soften the edges in such a way as to facilitate the making of composite images. I do this often. I can't think of a time I ever used a number higher than 4. So, 10 should be way more than enough. If you want to feather more than that, you're probably doing it for a different effect. Maybe you need to use the Alpha Blur effect instead.
  21. Photograph of the fox on my porch taken by me.
  22. I needed some new shapes for work. See these added to the first post in this thread:
  23. If you are wanting to have an effect (like directional blur, for example) follow the angle you've rotated the selection to, I think you're better off using an angle chooser control.
