ArrudaRJ
I know how to get rid of the background, but that isn't what I want. I want to just have the background. For example, let's say you have an album cover, with a blue somewhat blurred background, but the artist's logo or name etc on top of the background. Is there a way that you can get rid of the logo or name and have JUST the background? Is it even possible? Obviously I don't want empty transparent holes in the image either. barbieq25
Well it is sort of...it will depend on the image. Ego Eram Reputo
If you're going to cut bits out of a single layered image you're going to end up with holes. That's a fact of life. There are a few techniques to filling up those holes. Doing it to a high standard (i.e. optically difficult to detect) is going to become more difficult as the background gets more complex. Often it's easier just to recreate the artwork from scratch. Red ochre
http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=13595 is good for filling small transparent holes. BUT creativity is more important - be inspired by the original and make your own! Quote Red ochre Plugin pack.............. skullbonz
Make sure you are not violating any copyright laws also. Or does that matter anymore? Quote http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/21233-skullbonz-art-gallery
Ego Eram Reputo
Yes it matters. The album cover example was (I'm assuming by the language used) hypothetical. Ripping off other peoples artwork cannot be condoned and is illegal.
