andywright
Hello all, I am running windows 7 pro 64 bit. I have installed Paint.net v3.5.11 I have tried to install a couple plugins for instance chromakey and have failed miserably. I have unlocked the dll and the files reside in the C:\Program Files\Paint.NET\Effects folder. still no joy. Can someone please help me on this. I have read the trouble shooting section and still nothing. The entry does not show up under effects or adjustments.
david.atwell
I know you said that you read everything in the Troubleshooting section, but this question still belongs there. :-) Thread moved. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.Amy: But how did it end up in there? The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.

mottoman
If Installed OK, you would find Chroma Key under Effects > Photo. Can you provide a screenshot of your effects folder ?
andywright
Here is the screen shot you asked for. thanks

BoltBait
Maybe Paint.NET is installed in a different place. Try this: Find the Paint.NET icon that you double-click in order to run Paint.NET. Right-Click on it and choose "Properties" from the menu that shows up. Click the "Open file location" button. In the windows explorer window that opens, double-click "Effects" folder. That's where the effect dll files are supposed to be installed. mottoman
Hmmm. Looks OK. A shot in the dark here, but try the pdn repair application to see if that helps (See screenshot)
andywright
Checked for more than one install. Negative right click brings you to same location as the paint.net and DLL files Tried running the Pdnrepair said it was successful however still no joy
Ego Eram Reputo
Check that you DO NOT have any internal paint.net dll files in the /Effects folder. They should be in the next higher directory level i.e. /Paint.net/ and not /Paint.net/Effects. To id these dll files, look for the text "paintdotnet.*" in the filename. andywright
So I removed all the files except Chroma Key and it works. I have attached the list of the files I took out
Red ochre
'PaintDotNet.Effects.dll' should be directly inside the 'Paint.NET' folder.Well I hope so - it is for me. 1 Quote Red ochre Plugin pack.............. Ego Eram Reputo
^^ That's the one. The other dll's can be returned to the /Effects folder and you should be good-to-go.
