SAND33P
Okay so i am a computing/graphics student with reasonable coding abilities with PASCAL (no idea why i had to learn that at college). I know that probably won't help me at all when it comes to building plugins but what are the recommended skills to learn to be able to start experimenting with plugin creation? Purely for the sake of curiosity
BoltBait
First, download and install CodeLab. http://www.boltbait.com/pdn/CodeLab/ Then, read these tutorials: http://www.boltbait.com/pdn/CodeLab/help/ Afterwards, if you have questions, ask here. 1 Quote Click to play: Download: BoltBait's Plugin Pack | CodeLab | and how about a Computer Dominos Game
Red ochre
I found BolBait's tutorials brilliant! - I printed them out, read them, re-read them and still refer to them occasionally. Also there are various sites online to teach the basics of C#. I found this series of tutorials useful to look up the syntax too (though much of it is not directly needed to use codelab).http://www.csharp-station.com/Tutorials/Lesson01.aspxGood luck! - be warned it can be addictive. 1 Quote Red ochre Plugin pack.............. Ego Eram Reputo
I learned C# from pretty much from fiddling with CodeLab. Hands-on experience is a great learning tool. Echoing Red Ochre, I can't speak highly enough of BoltBait's tutorials! 1 Quote ebook: Mastering Paint.NET | resources: Plugin Index | Stereogram Tut | proud supporter of Codelab plugins: EER's Plugin Pack | Planetoid | StickMan | WhichSymbol+ | Dr Scott's Markup Renderer | CSV Filetype | dwarf horde plugins: Plugin Browser | ShapeMaker
