Bluespide
Hello, is the version before 5.0 still available and where can I get it? I don't want to be a dick or something but I'm in the middle of a project and wasn't aware, that the update changed the brush. Size 2 is now smaller thant in the previouse version an 3 ist too thick. Can't get it to draw the way it was before. Here is a example. I drew the clound on the right again with version 5.0 and the lines are thinner. The one on the left is from the previuse version with a line from version 5.0 drawn in the middle. https://imgur.com/ghYvoTH
Solution toe_head2001 Posted January 11, 2023 Solution Share Posted January 11, 2023 Yes, there seems to be a difference. Both of these are Brush Size 2; Hardness 75% @Bluespide You can use a decimal value for brush size, such as 2.3. Does that help? Revert to an old version should be a last resort, and even then, a temporary solution. 2 Quote (September 25th, 2023) Sorry about any broken images in my posts. I am aware of the issue. Rick Brewster
You can type in a size between 2 and 3, e.g. 2.5. Older versions would round to an integer, but PDN5 does not. The difference is because PDN4 would effectively use a more square-ish brush at very small sizes, whereas PDN5 does an accurate circle-shaped brush. In a future update I'll be adding more brush shape options. 1 Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
Bluespide
Interesting with sub integer sizes, yes 2.3 works. Thanks!
TrevorOutlaw
TIL that it is possible to enter decimal in brush. All righty, then, good to know! Quote Paint.NET Gallery | Remove Foreground Object Tutorial | Dispersion Effect Tutorial
NinthDesertDude
You learned it today because it just became possible with paint.net 5 itself. (Someone should add that to the manual, though.)
Ego Eram Reputo
The Text Tool has had this for quite a while. See https://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/TextTool.html#4 I'll file a note to update the docs. 1 Quote ebook: Mastering Paint.NET | resources: Plugin Index | Stereogram Tut | proud supporter of Codelab plugins: EER's Plugin Pack | Planetoid | StickMan | WhichSymbol+ | Dr Scott's Markup Renderer | CSV Filetype | dwarf horde plugins: Plugin Browser | ShapeMaker
