RubberDucky Posted September 19, 2008 Share Posted September 19, 2008 I was wondering if anyone else is getting the blue screen of death when they start up Paint.net. I did have a virus but have gotten my computer fixed. I had to uninstall Paint.NET and reInstall it. Now Everytime I click on it to open, I get the blue screen of death and the whole computer restarts. Its only on this program and no others. Does anyone have any suggestions or can help me? My bet is that either your video card driver, or your tablet/stylus driver (if you have a tablet/stylus that is), has some corruption or problem. In any case it's not a Paint.NET issue. But, again, this isn't a Paint.NET issue, I guarantee you that. It's not installing any kernel drivers or anything like that, ergo it cannot be causing the BSOD. Something Paint.NET is using in the kernel is causing this. Maybe it's a corrupt file -- you said you have a virus remember -- and so the code it's eventually executing is spurious, and it just bombs out because of that. You should find a good Windows tech support forum -- they will know better what to do here. The BIOS can't control what Windows does on a blue-screen. Please stop telling RubberDucky to go into the BIOS. That's just asking for disaster, those settings can do real harm if set incorrectly.
