Any explosion effect (more like a fracture + moving effect) ?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for an explosion effect. To be precise on what I want to do is an effect that will take the image, fracture it into some parts around the center, and then will move the parts away from the center based on some slider (or something in that sort). how can I achieve such an effect?

I hope I explained my self well, but if not let me know and I'll try to make something together to explain it better.

You could do this:

1.  Duplicate your image.

2. On a new layer add a Hexagonal Grid.

3. Select a grid with the magic wand.

4. Return to the duplicated image and use the Move Selected tool outwards.

If you want the white on the hex grid, as your example, just add white into your grid lines.

@Red ochre The images seem to be saved on a free hosting site called ImgBB — Upload Image — Free Image Hosting

I got no warnings from my antivirus.

I wonder if this tutorial Exploding Planets is any use? Some of the techniques might be applicable.
