  1. The link doesn't appear to be working at this time: http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n264/CantaLibra/connectionproblem.png
  2. Thanks for the compliments. My wife got a real laugh out of the mirror reflection pic as well.
  3. EDIT: Something funny with the link is going on. I downloaded it, then I re-tried to download and take a screenshot to show it was working but it was empty the second time I tried like you indicated.
  4. I thought I'd give my hand at a photo manip that I've seen elsewhere here: http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n264/CantaLibra/LiesureTime.png My source pics: http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n264/CantaLibra/LiesureTime-a.png http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n264/CantaLibra/LiesureTime-b.png http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n264/CantaLibra/LiesureTime-c.png http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n264/CantaLibra/LiesureTime-d.png http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n264/CantaLibra/LiesureTime-e.png ....just a little more toying around....: http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n264/CantaLibra/BrushingReflection.png
  5. I believe the plugin here should help you: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=22817
  6. Are you working on a large image? If so, maybe this thread will help you (?): http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/18296-error-saving-large-png-images/
  7. It is possible that he's encountering the files being blocked by Windows 7. I recall some time ago when I downloaded .zip files containing models (.mdl files) for a game I was involved in, I was having problems using them as Windows wouldn't permit it until I had the permissions adjusted for me. This could be occuring to him. Now it's been quite awhile since I've had the problem because I disabled the UAC (User Access Control) on my computer. I believe if he checks the properties on the .zip file that contained the .dll and/or the .dll itself it should indicate, "This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer." If this is the case, and if my memory is correct, he should be able unblock the files from the same properties dialogue box.
  8. I came across this thread (for what it's worth). Maybe there's something in the linked file there that may help you: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/7984-filetype-plugin-template-v20/
  9. I'll go straight to the point: I don't know much more than you when it comes to scripts, but it would be helpful to post the code you've put together. Maybe some typo exists or a statement is incomplete, etc. This will give somebody an opportunity to review it and possibly comment on it.
  10. It seems to me that Rick has the right idea. No fussin' with scripting or troubleshooting scripts, or anything else - afterall look how much you had to type out for the script, but Ricks suggestion is a ton fewer keystrokes and you can use Paint.net. I find it hard to believe that after all that has been discussed here in regards to your issue that you would forget to rename the files back. Even if you did forget, you would immediately know and the command would be short and sweet to rename them back as you needed to - no more problem.
  11. For "just messing around", it looks pretty cool. Nice job!
  12. First, this should help you in posting your pics: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/12193-how-to-use-images-in-your-posts-signatures-and-avatars/ Second, great work. I truly love it/them
  13. Here's my latest endeavor: As you can see from the enlarged image, I had a bit of a tough time breaking it into layers (some small gaps in the colored layers).
  14. I'm not trying to be a clown or anything of the sort, but instead of going through the alpha mask, couldn't you have done the outline in the yellow you used and then filled the area with the same color, or is the alpha mask doing something more that I just don't realize?
  15. More to the point, many ink printers have 2 ink cartridges. one black, and the other having the three primary colors (red, green, blue - hence the standard designation of RGB). At any rate, if you do a lot of color printing, it is possible that one color has expelled itself before the 2 of the others, leaving you with only the pink color resulting from your cartridge trying to produce what it cannot because of the shortage of the necessary color it needs.
  16. In trying to use the magic wand, there is no mention as to what settings you have tried or if maybe you were using the default settings. Another person awhile ago had an image that was essentially white on white and was able to get the background erased. Have a look here and see if this can't aid you: http://forums.getpai...ite-background/ If after going through the above you seem to have some "jaggies" around the edges, use the AA Assistant on the image (you may have to do it a couple times). One of the things I often do (especially with a light image) is create a new layer, move it down below the image I'm working on and using the paintbucket, paint that layer black. This permits me to more easily see the outline of the image I'm working on and whether I should apply the AA Assistant to the image again. Once all is well, you can delete the layer with the black. EDIT: As you can see from my screenshot, I was able to remove the background. Also, I started using the "Tolerance" at 25% but had to adjust it down in other areas. You can also see that I used the black background method I described above and had to apply the AA Assistant twice to get a favorable result:
  17. The mesh is only visual, it has no other effect other than to show the area as transparent. The reason why it is this way is so that you can tell by the pattern what portion of the image is transparent. If it were white, for example, how would you be able to distinguish the erased area from an actual area that was white? Once you've erased the area, you can use the paintbucket for fill that area with whatever color you desire. Then you type your text and you won't be confused. When you eventually learn about layers and how to use them, you will find that when you place your image that has an erased area in it over another image, you will not see the checkered squares anymore, but instead you will see in that area the portion of the below image. You only see the checkered squares when you view the image by itself.
  18. Those "little squares" are there to show you the area that is now erased.
  19. I wonder if there'll ever be a Gaelic translation.
  20. My dear sir, this section is for "publishing" tutorials. But fear not, I'm sure someone of higher caliber than I will relocate this for you.
  21. This might be a good place for you to start: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/22702-make-a-3d-shield-icon/
  22. Have a browse through the thread at the link below and see if anything mentioned there might help you: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/23336-printig-problem-with-wia/
  23. Are you really set on the idea of covering the whole side, or would something like this work? http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n264/CantaLibra/CasketWithPlaque.png If this is more to your liking as an alternative, you may delve into the tutorial here which may aid you in creating the plaque: http://forums.getpai...3d-shield-icon/ Once you've created that, you add it as a layer and adjust the placement using the Rotate/Zoom under Layers in your menus (also some drop shadow as well). Forgive the conflict with the shadow on the lettering vs the actual layout. I quickly threw this together using a plaque I made previously. EDIT: There is also a "Perspective" plugin here: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=16197
  24. http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n264/CantaLibra/WinterChill.png The above was something I was toying with awhile ago. I created the letters using the glass text with fill tutorial (less the fill) and then used the smudge plugin to create icicles on the lettering. The snow caps were made on another layer also utilizing the smudge plugin. The snow caps were simply white bars with light blue highlights. Smudge Plugin: http://forums.getpai...showtopic=10634 Glass/Fill Tutorial: http://forums.getpai...t-with-filling/ I hope this helps
