  1. Very nice barbie,but sorry to hear of your dad. The dog one gave me a smile.
  2. Wow,Thank you everybody. You might be right dug,lol,that's the one that made it to the Galleria. I am as surprised as Barbie minus the dancing,lol.
  3. Free they are,lol. I prefer to make my own in PDN still,but a good idea for people who don't. Another example of what pdn and you can make.
  4. Thank you,thank you,thank you,thank you and those earrings would be the glowing kind,lol,real cool at night. Now watch,someone is going to take that idea and make millions with it,just like my idea in the 60's about bottling water and selling it,or how an interactive TV would be cool to make,or the mini TV screen you could watch TV shows on and call people with. Oh well I missed the boat on those,what's one more,lol. Anyway with this color explosion comp going on I have been in a colorful mood,lol,as always,heh,heh,so here are a few colors. http://forums.getpai...-16th/?p=349670 Also check out my new website I am making using PDN for the graphics,first one I have ever made,lol,still building it and learning. Link is below my sig.
  5. An easy way to remove the sky is to sample the color of the sky with the eyedropper tool. Then go to Effects/Color/Grim color reaper ( http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=15595 ) and remove the primary color. You can adjust the amount removed to suit your need. Hope this helps.
  6. Thank you everyone. lol,Red,I think I have lost mine too,lol. And 167 intrigued me also when I made it,kind of a color Escher,lol. Yes Helen stained glass is hard to make and I still haven't mastered it quite how I want yet but getting there. And in my mind I have been there,lol. Now for today's picture I made one for the girls around here,a pair of earrings. I started with a shaped gradient and thought wow what a cool looking gem and well,lol,it led to these. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/21233-skullbonz-art-gallery-update-march-16th/?p=349670
  7. I am pretty sure you can install PDN on windows 8,check here; http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/25574-windows-8-app/#entry381300 and here; http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/399-frequently-asked-questions-faq/
  8. Thank you Barbie and Daniels. If you like those you will love my newest creations. I tried my hand at making stained glass windows,one framed,one not. Each one I used a different method for the colored glass but both got some clipwarp action in the middle,the wood frame one got a bit more than clipwarp. I also overlayed a texture on the wires of the wood frame one. How they look?
  9. chimay12321 said "I think that's what makes everybody's style of art so different, everybody wants to put a little bit of himself, especially his/her mood, in his work" That is one of my problems,lol,I have way too much in my head and I am a moody old fart so the sigs tend to be off base,lol.
  10. So you used someone else's frame in a video promoting an airline? Hmmm. There are many ways in pdn to make frames. There are two plugins; Borders and Shapes by pyrochild and Frames by MadJik that could have done something similar to Boda's with a little expertise.
  11. Here is one I made for a wedding using flowers for the border. I took many pictures with one camera and video with another,then made a video for them. It was a mixture of stills and video,section of stills,video,stills,video,etc. with music. I took pictures of the flowers all over the place also to make frames and things out of. Then at my trusty pdn computer I cut all the flowers out of the pictures and saved them as separate pdn files so I could mix match,trim,etc. I made about 8 different styles of frames and saved them as pdn files with a transparent background. Then I took all 98 of the pictures going into the video and added a frame to each one. Here is an example of one of them,note the two flowers in the bottom corners with the little bead things,lol,that was difficult and lines had to be added.
  12. Ok,after making a half dozen different sigs,much thought and talking on the forum about sigs I believe I may have a decent entry this time. Not packed with detail,lots of color and a simple sig name might be the trick,lol. I'm going to stick this out and get the hang of sigs and make Barbie proud. My entry;
  13. Wow Barbie that is exactly how I feel when making a sig. I really don't like the renders type,way too common and your creation revolves around another's creation and i never could see the purpose in those unless you are using them in a game site forum with those characters in the game. I have made many sigs over the last few years but they have all been to my liking and I never payed attention to whether anyone else liked them until now with these comps. I am just not savvy yet to the popular styles and giving up will not help,but continuing will make me learn that and to get over the size thing. You are right,we all have many different styles and I love your descriptions of everyone's styles,lol. You sure hit the nail and me on the head with this post and I am working on a colorful entry as we speak.
  14. Yes save the alien head as a pdn file and you will find or create something later that it will go great with. For now it looks pretty cool,I have one something like it in my gallery and I used parts from different things to make a body,bug arms,dog legs,lol.
  15. Ok Red,the new Dragon one is awesome,love it. Of course I said I loved the glass dragon too,but this one trumps that,lol.
  16. You must be reading my mind Daniels with the wip,lol,I have been thinking about making one of those. You have a nice start to it,try that tute of yellowman's for the balls,you might have to do two perspectives of the balls and reflections though. One for the stationary balls and one for the swinging one. Can't wait to see it finished.
  17. Thanks Daniels,Helen and blackpenny,I liked doing that one. Here are a few more of my latest space and art pics.
  18. Here I am scouring your gallery looking for the Cafe sign and it's right above this post,lol,man it's been a long day. I love how your orbs came out,the darker background makes it stand out more.
  19. Well I wrote that before I saw your next comp and also seeing as you put it that way I will give it another go. I have always had a hard time making sigs,not sure but it always seems like I am on the wrong page with the concepts,lol. You are right I did get 5 votes this time so maybe I am slowly getting it. And with the new comp being an explosion of color and how I love colors,maybe I can come up with a good one,lol. But if not,oh well.
  20. Congrats to the winners and a good job everyone on the sigs. I am not very good at making sigs,I just can't get the hang of making something so small. If I make it bigger and then shrink it down it always loses the appearance I sought or had. I will be sticking to bigger pictures mostly from now on but will come back for voting.
  21. I did this tutorial and all was going well until I added some color to the spiny urchin. Before I knew it,it was turned into the table and yellowman's other tutorial took over,lol. I'll try again when the glass orb one isn't so fresh on my mind,lol. At least the table was made out of the first design he has up there and the other tutorial was his too,lol.
  22. @ Daniels- Thanks,I think the size problem was on my side,should be ok now. @ Helen- Thank you,I knew you would like the marbles,lol,and thanks to yellowman they will be getting better. @yellowman-Thank you yellowman for steering me to something else real cool and your comments. It was you who tipped me off to terragen also,which by the way has me addicted,lol. I have been rendering them without an atmosphere and then importing that into PDN to make everything else. I have surprised myself at what i have been making lately doing that for my space pictures. It's tough learning all of these programs and how they work all at the same time,lol,but I am,slowly. Below you will see my first try at your tutorial. It was easy to follow until I got to the perspective part but I played with the settings and ended up with this. After that I read more in the thread and saw why it didn't work right,lol,should have read that first. I will be using this technique and experimenting further in the future. Thanks @ blackpenny- Thanks,two of my favorites also. @barbieq25 who snuck in when I was posting this,lol,Thanks barbie. yellowman's glossy orb tute,link above in his post;
  23. Thank you Helen,Daniels,Sasha and Drydareelin for your comments,a little art graffiti with some space added in,lol I love colors so of course everything I make is vibrant which I have to learn to tone down in some pictures. I have been working on and off on the Precious Marbles for about 5 days and decided I was done and leave it alone before I mess it up,lol. The other three new ones took some time also but not near what a high multiple layer picture does. In Marbles each item and each board consisted of 2-7 layers with layers in between the groups,I lost count,lol. I hope you like how they came out.
  24. Thank you DrewDale and dug. I'm discovering new tricks everyday,lol,never know what i will come up with next,heh,heh. I was listening to Pink Floyd The Wall when I made the wall banner,lol.
