  1. I got an email today from Photo Bucket and in June they are going over to Adobe. If you use photo bucket on these forums you may lose all your links. You can archive your pictures now on there but I am not sure if the links will work. They are going to only accept .jpeg's and from what I understand those will not be deleted but any other format will be. This really sucks because the majority of mine are .png's. So what is another good place to store pics? lol
  2. Bummer! You will be missed nitenurse, the only one who friended me on here, lol. Activities on the internet interacting with other people is a tough thing to do if you are in an authority while doing it. We have people from all sorts of different cultures and backgrounds so what one says might mean something totally different to someone else. I have been a fun event manager in a game I play for 4 years now so I know how hard it is to bite my tongue sometimes. I also have been on the other side with rash comments by me which after reading what I posted made me feel an inch high. I should have and everybody should go by my admin over me's rule about posting replies or comments. "Write what you want to say, save it in word pad or somewhere else,go to bed that night and get up the next day, read it and then decide if you should post it." It works, lol,I have deleted many, heh, heh. Now come back nitenurse,I miss those eyes peeking at me. ( Oops,I missed nitenurses post above, just pretend this was before it,lol) Congrats to DrewDale for becoming a host,if you need help typing my name in the winners circle just message me anytime, lol.
  3. I just have to ask. What is a forum rank?
  4. Yep,bet she is because now you confused me too, lol.
  5. Lol,blackpenny,I'm addicted to them all too, lol. So many cool plugins a person doesn't know where to turn next, but we have fun doing it.
  6. Nice pics Daniels, love the stone textures, nice job.
  7. Thank you Daniels. Feel free to message me anytime you need help with something, always willing to share my tricks.
  8. Just added some new space pics and removed some things. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/21233-skullbonz-art-gallery-update-february-24th-video/?p=349670
  9. Very nice collection dug, love them all. Some pretty trippy ones in there, did I see you at a concert back in 69 ? lol
  10. Thank you for your comments and suggestions and Congrats to RFX,nice sig.
  11. Thank you Helen. It was two years worth, since discovering PDN, until now and in order so you can see the difference. I wonder what I will be making in two more years, lol.
  12. Made from a picture I took in New York City on the way to a Madonna concert and PDN. "I see colors everywhere, all the time."
  13. Thank you Sasha and blackpenny. I looked everywhere and didn't see that it was against the rules so I am posting this video. It is a collection of all my favorite space pictures from the start of using PDN until now,a little over two years all stuffed in under 12 minutes, lol. The first two thirds is almost all PDN and I apologize for the terragen pics at the end but they were space and so I threw them in. It might count that I bring all them into PDN first and touch them up,maybe add color and change the file type. All the artwork, music mixing and slideshow assembly was done by me and no copyright laws were broken. This will give you a different way to view my progression and all the space pics in one quick sitting with minimal mouse clicking. Enjoy.
  14. Well I hope I didn't make you quit RFX,it was still a very good entry and others might have given you votes. You should have left it. No one should get intimidated by anyone's comments on here,it is art and we all have different views. My vote still stands for Sasha on this. Red,I am afraid to comment now, lol, but it looks like a quick copy of Sasha's. Sasha=1 Red Ochre= 0
  15. Thank you Helen and yellowman and you're welcome. Yes I made the wood, board by board in pdn using wood stock pictures and shape 3D but I did forget to mitre the joints at the intersections of the trims of each pane, lol. But that is something most people wouldn't catch so I let it slip by. I have a wide variety of wood stocks that I use for this purpose, texture overlays, frames, backgrounds and anything else that might work. You might also be interested that all of the whole planets you see are made out of rock, dirt,or snow stocks that I also use for those purposes. I found that with a picture of a rock face and a few different plugins I can make some awesome looking planets. The problem that I see people having when making planets is that they are too interested in forming a certain shape with the land. There was no blueprint of how the land was layed out when it was created in real life so why try in the picture world and just leave it to chance. But you can alter things, change colors, add clouds and get a cool look before shape 3D'ing it. All anybody needs is a digital camera and some hard drive space and they could also make a texture/stock library. It will make their life so much easier in this world and be much quicker than creating each texture needed when doing a picture. Glad you both liked the photo manip, heh, heh,we have to keep a sense of humor in this present day fast moving cruel world, lol.
  16. Twenty minutes to make this one. Not to fancy, but with more time it could be. All pdn,I can use it again and also adjust width and length to fit any size rectangle picture.
  17. That sure does yellowman, wonder why I never found it,lol, old eyes I'm afraid. EER,I already knew the pdn's and save most as png's anyway but just wondering all of their uses. So then what if the picture is half photo and half created? JPNG ? Thanks guys for the quick response.
  18. I can do all of these in pdn. The first one using Shape 3D to make each piece of wood, many layers and precise editing. The good thing is you only have to make one side for frames and then just duplicate 3 more times and shrink, move and cut each one to fit in it's place. Look at my window in my gallery and you'll see. The second one just add another layer under your poster layer. Increase canvas size to be bigger than your poster that fits your need. Then move your poster layer up to where you want it,outline object with white color to the width you desire. Add the white text under it and done, merge all layers. In the third and fourth you shrink the picture to about 90% and add a black background layer behind it. In the third one duplicate the picture layer and on the bottom one try zoom blur deluxe and play with adjustments. On the fourth one just go to the fade edge in Photo and fade until it looks good, vignette will also do a good job. The first one would probably take a half hour but the rest 15 minutes tops. I am a frame-aholic and make all kinds, but sometimes simple is better to not take away from the picture. I have done many cool frames for family and friend pictures that I gave to them. With a little imagination you can make theme frames, flowers for wedding pictures, hearts for sweethearts, candy canes for Christmas, etc, etc. Check out my gallery and you will see a few and get an idea. You can also save the frames you make as a pdn file before merging for using again or changing it. Hope this helps. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/21233-skullbonz-art-gallery-update-february-20th-cane-collection/
  19. Maybe there is something on this subject but I have yet been able to find the answer here or at google or wikipedia. When saving a picture made in pdn you are given several options for which file type to save as. My question is what is the difference in each of these file types and when or where should each be used?
  20. RFX--> Although I am a big fan of the matrix and I love the animated background,(also would like to know how to do it,lol),there is something about the guy in a baseball cap and the large letters that clash with it. Also the white light is a bit bright. Sasha--> You kept it simple, did a very nice job on the letters and background with just the right amount of shadow. I have to give it to Sasha,no offense to RFX but his hurt my eyes, lol. Sasha=1 RFX=0
  21. Why not use control and magic wand and highlight all the letters you want to move and copy them, then add another layer and paste them on that for easy manuevering. Then go back to the tea shirt layer and eye drop the color of the shirt and bucket fill the letters you moved. Then go move your letters around and merge when set. On the magic wand you may have to adjust the tolerance to lock on to the letters clean.
  22. I hope you don't mind Sasha but you were wondering what it was missing and having problems with backgrounds. This is a very easy technique I use quite often. I took your picture in pdn and deleted the black background with the sensitivity at 40% . Then added another layer, placed it under the other layer and bucket filled it with black. Then I duplicated the layer with the bowl and background from your picture. On the back one,or lower one,I used radial blur deluxe until I got a design that looked good. Then use the water reflection on that layer and adjust the center until it lines up,you will have to kick down the wave period and wind 2-4 notches to see it. Then gaussian blur default setting on the top layer, merge all layers. I really hope I didn't offend you with this, just trying to help a fellow noob and give you some more ideas to use. When using a layer to make a background try other blur and distort plugins to see what you get.
  23. PB is actually better when you get used to the new look and functions. When putting a link from there on here it is simpler now. Just copy the thumblink from PB of your pic and paste in your post here, then click preview post, and then submit. Walla!! All done and works great. Now also when you view some one's picture at PB you can scroll through their whole gallery of albums from that picture. No more links needed for galleries there anymore. It is actually much better with faster speed. The only thing I see wrong with it is they said I would get more storage but it appears I have gotten less, lol. Now the real reason why I stopped by. I have to tell you I love that violin, awesome job. But not only the violin, the music sheets are a work of art also. Did you make those sheets in pdn? Notes and all? Very nice.
