  1. Okay, it sounds like your OS file associations for .zip extensions are screwed up. What OS version are you using? (XP, Vista, etc.)
  2. Okay, I've deciphered the screenshot. It says "The image type is not recognized and cannot be opened." There are a few things that could cause that. What specifically did you do immediately before that error message came up? For example, did you double-click a plugin file? Did this happen when you clicked on the zipfile? Something else?
  3. I can't read that. Pls. redo screenshot. http://www.take-a-screenshot.org/
  4. jebllard03, Try again, following these instructions, exactly. Boltbait plugins: Download the zipped file to your Desktop or Downloads folder. Open the zip by left-clicking it. Copy/paste the plugin files to your Effects folder. Program Files/Paint.NET/Effects BoltBait Plugins ======================================================= Best to install plugins with Paint.NET closed.
  5. Okay. I re-worded it so it makes more sense now.
  6. Use the official download page. http://www.getpaint.net/download.html#download No viruses.
  7. Yeah, me too. Something about the way the website is set up? Something about the initial image that shows? Other images generally in the slideshow? ============================================== The images have some of the characteristics of lomography.
  8. So, do you have SP1 installed? If not, what are the Service Pack update issues specifically?
  9. What technique are you referring to specifically?
  10. The program is free, and can be used offline. It can do everything that you have said you'd like to do. Fixing blurs has its limitations regardless of what program you use, but there is the ability to sharpen to a degree. It is easy to use, once you learn how, and help with learning is readily available here on the forums.
  11. I'm sure that you can. The Line/Curve tool should be useful. Put each line that you draw on its own new layer so that you can edit without interfering with what you have already drawn. Adjusting the lines with the right mouse button will give smoother Bezier curves.
  12. With Vista: Control Panel (Classic View) > Default Programs > Associate a file type or protocol with a program What OS version are you using? (XP, Vista, etc.) ========================================================== Just so that you know, this type of question should be posted in the General Discussion & Questions forum.
  13. Do you mean like this, or something else? http://www.designersnexus.com/design/free-fashion-flats/fashion-design-sketches-jackets/
  14. You need to delete DdsFileType.dll from your File Types folder.
  15. ThreeBrushes.zip These three .png files can be copy/pasted into the Custom Brushes folder. They will then be available to use in the CustomBrushesMini plugin effect. Documents\Paint.NET User Files\Custom Brushes
  16. Here's a download of the example .pdn file: http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=00448394523409116575 In the .pdn file, Layer D is the text. Layer C is a duplicate of Layer D turned white and moved up and to the left a few pixels. Layer B is a duplicate of Layer D that has been blurred a bit. Layer A is a duplicate of Layer B that has been moved down and to the right a few pixels. (DropShadow) The opacity has been reduced in Layers Properties, also. =============================================== This is similar to what welshblue linked to. =============================================== About Layers in general. 17. Here's another way, using displaced layers, no Emboss. Try APShredder's suggestion first. If you want further explanation of the "layers" way, let me know. http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/6578/embosstest01.png
  18. This probably isn't the exact look that you want, but it may be close enough to show that you can develop the right look yourself if you experiment a bit with creating the right brush and adjusting the size and speed settings in the plugin effect.
  19. You can make your own brushes in Paint.NET. At the top of the frame is an option to Add Brush. You can browse for any image file on your PC.
  20. Try the Custom Brushes Mini plugin.
  21. Congratulations, chrisco97, csm725, welshblue.
