  1. February update. No new plugins added. Minor revisions to existing entries only. These minor changes have been included in the PDF and the filetypes list.
  2. For lots of great info on Paint.Net, press F1 (with Paint.Net open) and you'll be taken to the online documentation.
  3. NOT a tutorial, so this does NOT belong in the Tutorials+ section. <Moved to General Discussion & Questions>
  4. Profile pics have been turned off. Stop trying. The only profile pics you see are those of the very first users who logged & uploaded a profile pic before the option was permanently turned off (mostly Admins & Mods but there might be a handful of others).
  5. Wonderful selection of tutorials! I first thought of the Metallize plugin, which applies a chrome or metallic sheen to an image. But I don't think it will work on a monochrome image such as this (works best with gradients). If you were to introduce gradients....,
  6. Not when you're playing @BoltBait's Adventure Game...,
  7. Yes there are a large number of tools that will help you change the color. Look under the Adjustments menu, or in the Effects > Color menu. Try Curves or Curves+ (if you have it installed), Color Balance+, there are many more. You might also try the Recolor tool . Set the secondary color to black, set the primary color to your new color, increase the size of the brush width a bit & draw over your image. Increasing the tolerance in the toolbar will help clean up any stray pixels on the edges.
  8. PDN is Paint.Net's own proprietary file format, therefore other apps and websites will struggle to make sense of it. A trap for the unwary!
  9. Don't forget to restart Paint.Net after you've moved the files. Paint.Net only loads available effects on startup
  10. Use magic wand to select the area you want to be transparent (fine tune selection with tolerance slider) & press delete. The transparent area will show up as a grey/white checkerboard pattern. You won't be able to see transparency with a BMP file though as they don't support transparency. You'll need to save your image as a GIF (limited transparency support) or PNG (full alpha channel transparency supported).
  11. Try this: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/12195-faking-soft-brushes-and-the-blurdodgeburn-tool/
  12. Perhaps he will cheer up if you hit the donate button.... It's worth a try! This is not a twitter account where users read every tword you twrite about your tweek. This is a forum for Paint.Net. The content submitted must be of some value ( possibly excepting some areas in the GTOE which are there for fun). Don't confuse quantity of posts with the quality of the information being provided.
  13. Paint.Net is a fantastic piece of software. Feel free to express your thanks by using the Donate button. Donations help continue Rick's work on the project - and we all want better stuff right?
  14. In my opinion locking the price into the image is just going to cause you angst. You have already found that it's a long boring process to reprice a large number of items. Are you going to repeat this process in three months when prices are changed again? My suggestion (for your sanity): remove the price from the image and find another method of displaying it. If you need to cover the current price in the image, slap on the company logo in that corner. Do this and you'll never need to change these images again.
  15. Hi EER, just want to know about this problem I have. When I view a tutorial and read comments, I keep noticing the posts repeat themselves. I'm occasionally going through several identical pages. It happens pretty much everywhere I go. Any suggestions on what is wrong?

  16. You want an aliased image, so you're going to have problems getting a continuous ellipse when rotating. That's the nature of jagged edges as opposed to smooth (antialiased) edges. As per my previous post, try Alias plugin following the rotation of an antialiased ellipse. With the plugin you can control the amount of antialiasing to keep a continuous edge.
  17. Ok. Let's address your question/request. You want to rotate a selection/image and have the result aliased (jagged) as opposed to antialiased (smoothed). Yes? <edit: it's the Quality=Smooth/Pixellated options as Rick & CMD state below>. If that doesn't work, have a look at this plugin: Alias Plugin, it removes antialiasing.
  18. You think? So code it and post it here when you're done This sort of comment is extremely irritating and demeaning to the developer, Rick. You know nothing about the internals of Paint.Net so don't foolishly assume some new feature is 'not so hard' to implement.
  19. Yes this is the place to publish 'betas'. I'd create a new thread for each (maybe a day or two apart so you can apply anything learned to the next release).
  20. The Button plugin I linked to gives you the option of setting the button height and width. It seems a much easier method of making these rounded buttons
  21. Your images were too large. Please restrict the size of posted images to less than 800pixels at their largest dimension (Rule #29). Thanks. (I've replaced the images with links for you).
  22. Plaid fabric texture creates a very similar effect (but is labour intensive). This suggestion is faster (from the same thread) http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/20033-plaid-fabric-texture/page__view__findpost__p__336636
  23. How many entries would there be in your legend? If there are few, you might be able to enter them manually, on a new layer...., 1. Click the MORE button in the color window, you'll see boxes where you can type in RGB values. This sets the primary color to that RGB value (assuming you have Primary selected). If you have the image open in PDN you can activate the map layer and use the color picker tool to achieve the same thing. 2. Select the rectangle drawing tool and set the option in the toolbar to 'solid fill'. 3. Drag your rectangle tool to create a colored box (hold the shift key down while dragging to form a square). 4. Repeat for all RGB entries in the legend. 5. Use the Selection tool and Move tool to select the boxes and move them to line up nicely under one another 4. Swap to the text tool and type the legend entries beside the colored boxes. If you want complete automation you might have to download Codelab and learn some programming
