Rep points - how to vote for a post
Ego Eram Reputo replied to Ego Eram Reputo's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
@skullbonz: A user's reputation is displayed under their avatar. It's a guide to how a particular person is perceived on the forum. A measure of their R-E-S-P-C-T if you like. @welshblue is highly respected here. You can tell because he has the highest reputation score on the forum (470+ and counting). -
How to make a realistic shadows
Ego Eram Reputo replied to xod's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
It's a work in progress Gallade. I'm sure XOD has some excellent ideas for the wall and floor, so let's not be too critical at this stage. -
Rep points: the low down: Seen this on the right hand side of a post? The green button is used to vote for a post. The grey score next to the button is the total of votes that the post has. If you like a post - vote for it by clicking the button. It's all a bit like FaceLessBook's "like" thingy. When you click the green Up button you add a vote to the post's total and also add to the author's personal total of 'rep' points You get 5 points to distribute per day - please do

Can you open Paint.net at all? Or does this just happen when you try to open an image?

A slight amendment to the tutorial guidelines has been posted today. You can find the guidelines here: Tutorial Posting Guidelines The new rule is 3.5... 3.5 Please include links to any plugins used in your tutorial. This makes it so much easier for users to locate that hard-to-find plugin. The easiest way to post a link is to surround the plugin name with Topic tags - as shown here: Posting Forum Links Thank you for your cooperation

It's probably safe to say your anti-virus software did an incomplete job. To resolve the issue you'll need to remove all the hooks before re-installing. Read this thread: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/692-install-update-or-uninstall-trouble-read-this/ In particular you want post number two.

How to make animals Glow??
Ego Eram Reputo replied to Gallade's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
That's a PhotoShop plugin called Fractalius. Impressive isn't it? There are a few techniques that mimic this effect in paint.net: 1. This plugin psfilterpdn allows PS plugins to be used in paint.net. You should note that Fractalius is not free and requires you to buy a copy. 2. This tutorial by @yellowman is quite a similar effect: http://pdnfans.freeforums.org/post7726.html#p7726 3. Furblur plugin: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/27058-furblur-update-21st-sept-2013/ 4. Cobweb plugin: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/27296-cobweb-new-plugin-halloween-2013/ -

The darker background certainly offsets the bright orange better. Thanks Welshy! -

Thanks Welshy. It has me beat. It just looks.... unfinished somehow. Look forward to your thoughts on it. @gaz:Now you have a logo to be proud of! I like that a lot. Tried it without the exclaimation mark? -
There are a number of plugins which are incompatible with v4.0 Alpha. I've been compiling a list here. I have found none (yet) which would generate this error. The only thing I can suggest is to copy all of your plugins to another location and delete the originals. Restore them in batches, restarting paint.net each time, until you find the one causing the crash. Please let us know what you find out.

Image Hospital: Help With Image Problems Here!

IMHO the background is too plain. It needs more activity. See Welshblue's sig for an example. Anyone want to suggest a finish for this texture? -
I got all the jersey with these settings: But note how the skin is also selected? It's shade is too close to the jersey to easily separate using CH&S settings. Workaround: Duplicate the layer before running CH&S at those settings on the top layer. Use the Eraser tool to remove the recolored face on the top layer, leaving the lower layer face to show through. . There is still a little pink around the right side of the chin (EDIT: that actually might be my poor erasing ) - I'll leave you to play with the settings of CH&S to resolve that. Tip: click on a control then use the arrow keys for fine control
