  1. Please will you find someone to take over as Comp Host ............. I've had enough of being on the forum.
  2. Lovely additions @Limon. Your work has a nice clean cut and photographic look to them. I can't pick a favorite one - they are all super .
  3. @Red - thanks so much (hope someone doesn't accuse me of plagiarizing this too). Awww ........... that's so darn cute Racerx .
  4. Thank you @pdnNoob - it took many hours to paint each frame. @Toe - yes, I did get the "inspiration" for the owl from an animated work. I get a lot of ideas from art on the web. I did, however, paint every frame I used in a different colour (as you can see from the example) and it took hours. I would never have copied and pasted someone else's work as you are suggesting. mine and my line up for animating it in Midora's Plugin:
  5. @Si Borg - thank you so much for those kind words . Yes, those amazing people you mention (and a few more mentioned in my preamble) were my inspiration and, without a tutorial by a chap called @AFG - I would never have attempted to do a portrait. Just shows that if you try, persevere, get help from some of the very helpful people on this forum, do as many tutorials as you can, you will make hay in end. (As you've found out ... judging by your steampunk entry). And, finally ............. thank goodness for the Plugin developers on here who have created some very handy tools for us to use.
  6. The theme this week is – "Flags" which has been chosen by – Si Borg (SOTW #140 winner). This week you're challenged to design and create a signature based on a Flag of your choice. The deadline for entries is 7:00pm Eastern Time (UK - Midnight) on Sunday the 6th of December 2015. I've made the submission period a little longer than usual because of the Thanksgiving holiday. To see how that equates to other countries, here is a link to the World Time Competition Rules 1. Max sig dimensions 500 x 200. Please NOTE: The forum limits signatures to 500 x 150, if it is too large do not try to use it as your sig. 2. Please keep your signature family friendly. 3. Keep to the theme that has been set. 4. You may modify or replace your image until the deadline! 5. Don’t violate copyright laws with found images; links to source images would be courteous. 6. Your entry must be made using Paint.net. Please don't use an outside image editor and try passing it off as PDN work. 7. There are multiple entries per entrant allowed. The winner of the current SOTW gets to choose the subject for the next competition. Good luck all and thank you in advance for entering. Thanks to - Chrisco97, Sozo, TheHowler, Nitenurse79, DrewDale and Chimay for keeping this competition going in the past. This thread is for posting your entries only. If you want to talk about any of the entries, you can do so in the discussion thread found here.. ****************************
  7. Ooops ........... your link is missing the 'f' in the posted link you gave @Red I think this is the one you meant: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/927-icon-cursor-and-animated-cursor-format-v37-may-2010/
  8. If you use this link to search it would have popped up immediately . But you do have to click on the link after you find it.
  9. WINNERS 1. Si Borg (16 votes) 2. Pixey (14 votes) 3. Barbieq (11 votes) Congratulations to Si Borg on his first win on his first SOTW - a very Welsh-like entry indeed! Thank you also to all who entered and to those who voted. Very impressive entries from everyone - thank you! I have PM'd Si Borg and hope to hear from him soon for the next theme . ************
  10. Thank you @Scrapbook - so glad you liked them . I only just got down to adding your snow globe .............. and what a great globe it is too.
  11. Argh .............. I'm feeling dizzy @Red .................. now I'm a dizzy blonde . I know ................. forgot the "a" in Holiday . Hubby says ..... just tell them it's the English way of spelling.
  12. 'Tis possible to do in Midora's animated Plugin: I know ............. I forgot the "a" . It's not my day today!
  13. Oh My ..................... a whole week's blonde moments rolled into one .
  14. Sorry, but I am confused about how to save the copy & pasted code into an .xmal . I've done the above mentioned ...... saved in notepad ....... but when I try to save from txt to xmal there is no choice in the drop down. I've tried to change the file name to .xmal - it does save, but looks nothing like the other saved .xmal's and does not show up in the Shapes folder. Would be great to know what I (dum-dum) am doing wrong here .
  15. Fabulous Christmas Shapes ................ so many beauties to choose from .
  16. You can align it after you type with this plugin. Also here is a good search link for looking for subjects in PDN.
  17. Hi Tim and Welcome. You can find a Plugin to do those rays here and Madjik's whole pack here. And on How to Add Plugins, please go here.
  18. Hi Mandy. You have to install the downloaded plugin from the first post. Here is how to install it before you can use it.
  19. To add to the great suggestions above, here are two videos which may be of help. Although done in an earlier version of Paint.net, the basics still apply. One and two Good luck.
  20. Hi @Star3 - Welcome to the forum. This could also be achieved by using Brushes, which can be found here. It's a bit tricky and is quite a lot of work, initially ......... but is a great tool nevertheless.
  21. Thanks @TR - I did what you suggest, but didn't get the whole thing to close up completely. Also, I notice that: 1. The cubic spline stops working after a certain amount of clicks, so I assume it is set to a certain number ? 2. To my detriment ..... I discovered you can only have 100 layers I'll be more careful now
  22. Ditto what @Lynster says as I've only just noticed this after making my packs. I suspect this is going to be a problem with anything more than a few lines. I've tried to 'clone' some lines in my animal packsince, and it's proving to be rather difficult .
  23. I was in ignorant bliss about the 'fill' problem until I watched the great video tutorial by TR, for which many thanks. However, sometimes the funny fill is rather cute IMHO .
  24. Herewith three festive animals for the Season. Please only use as outlines, as filled shapes are proving too difficult ATM. Christmas cat xmal's.zip
